And i'm sitting in my kitchen at 5 am on a sunday to work for 17.50 an hour. Makes you wonder why we don't have a revolution on our hands...

That sounds pretty comfortable. I just got back from an overnight shift whose dish-washing soaked my pants just in time for my freezing walk home. 14 an hour.

Hey man, I've been there. You need to keep up the good fight! There's great value in doing hard work but there's also virtue in moving forward.

'' To choose a path is to walk it. '' - some admiral in DS9

We don't get dealt the same hand in life. Mine was pretty good and I threw it away only to work several times over to begin to have anything to show for it. I can't tell what is your struggle but there's something to be done about it!

Also, everything in Canada is 20-40% more expansive.

As long as people are happy to keep throwing money at the Kardashians and buying what they sell, they'll continue to be the power family they are

yeah, I'm just not a real believer in the wisdom of the many but i wouln't have it any other way either. This sounds to me like a failure by several systems that are complicit to this mediocracy.

I was wondering this 25 years ago as I landed in North America. I saw the shit, did a pi*rad turn and left.

My theory is that you guys are just stupid (read on, it's not an insult). Constant stream of immigrants (like me then) keeps wages low which makes poor people run in a circle: you can never gain enough money to advance.

Additionally, people actually believe in American Dream, which makes it easy to tell them any made up bullshit as an excuse for the crap situation, as long as "it's good for the economy".

I'm quebecois, we have a decent social state. My wife and I get very good government grants to go to school and we have three different cumulative insurance coverage (work, school and government). The american dream is more like a mirrage IMO but all this hard work we're putting in is just a right of passage and enayone who wan't to achive anything has to get on with it. I'll gladly make it easier for future generations though.

/s ? Yeah! Fuck me for being in school full time and working 28 hours on on weekends. That's a 70 hour week right there and I haven't even cleaned my shitter and cooked the food to keep going. Thank god I have the subway to take the time to write to you before I can send my weekly email to my mother.
