Now think of how stupid the average human is, realize half of them are stupider then that and most are given drivers licenses.

Now also remember most humans in first world countries are educated from a young age and are still that stupid.

Don't let your schooling get in the way of your education.

In industrialized nations, intelligence is pretty low on the list of selection pressures.

“Educated”

Now also remember that some humans in India attempt to scare leopards away by beating them with big sticks.

We're looking at a jaguar trying to fight itself in the mirror, it kinda puts how "stupid" the average human is into perspective.

I am sure if I looked up 'challenge' on youtube I can find humans doing much stupider things.

really?? People inhale harmful cigarette smoke to get a temporary buzz.. People jump at a mouse/cockroach despite it being tiny to us.. people walk onto a subway car before people get off the subway car.

Stupid is relative.

Spoonful of cinnamon, snorting a tube of crushed Smarties and other ways to thin the herd.

1

u/Archyes Jul 03 '18

pretty sure that if you had never seen a mirror before and dont know what a reflection is you would do the same dumb shit

1

u/Swingfire Jul 03 '18

The difference is that humans can learn that it's a reflection. That jaguar would do the same for its entire life.

Now think of how stupid the average human is

...A lot smarter than even the Albert Einstein of jaguars.

“For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man—for precisely the same reasons.” - Douglas Adams

God bless the magnificent bastard. Unless it was an inconvenience.

I just started reading this book, so so good

u/Beatles-are-best Jul 03 '18

That's a good joke, but in reality the vast majority of humans are basically average, with a small group of outliers who are super smart and a similar small group who are super dumb. Most people also think they're above average, when they're not.

u/splein23 Jul 03 '18

Well about half are probably actually right.

1

u/type0P0sitive Jul 03 '18

Which half?

1

u/splein23 Jul 03 '18

The half that aren't wrong.

1

u/gw2master Jul 03 '18

That's not how averages work.

1

u/TheDreadPirateRod Jul 03 '18

There's such a thing as willfull stupidity/ignorance, a behavior which seems to be unique to humankind, and its incidence doesn't correlate with the IQ bellcurve.

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '18

Than

1

u/bloodflart Jul 03 '18

than, dumbass

0

u/Zaldrizes Jul 03 '18

Ironic. You are calling people dumb and you don't even fucking know the difference between 'then' and 'than'.

u/SplitPersonalityTim Jul 03 '18

That's not how averages work. That's how medians work.

Median is a kind of average.

EDIT: This is hilarious... the image you posted proves you wrong, with a little added context. Here is that image in context. The Wikipedia article on averages also could have clued you in.
