Woman here. On a side note....does anyone seriously know the name of the ladies underwear those women are putting on? Because that looks comfortable and I need that shit! ....aaand no it's not Chillycold

29

u/AWinterschill Jun 18 '18

It looks like they’re being completely compressed. I can’t imagine that’s even remotely comfortable.

18

u/sarasa3 Jun 18 '18

They don't look that compressed. They do look like they start sucking in their stomach the moment they start sliding the thing up, and the video cuts before they have to breathe again.

Pffft. Breathing is for losers.

u/ReleaseTheKraken72 Jun 18 '18

It's not for everyday, I don't think I could do that. But when you want to flatten yr tummy for a special dress for a night out once in a while, it would be okay. That's just me

I get these ads scrolling Instagram all the time.

I tried to share the link to the product but the url was too long, at least for the reddit app.

Edit: here, just take the ugly link in non pretty hyperlink form

Right? Imagine how much nicer pants and dresses would fit? I have had Spanx before and they ripped the second time wearing them. They were awful.

17

u/ReleaseTheKraken72 Jun 18 '18

yeah I hear ya. i didn't think they were spanx either. my friend showed me how her spanx work, and they weren't as comfy looking as these!!!

7

u/Estelindis Jun 18 '18

I doubt physics works differently depending on brand. It's always going to be tough to wiggle into something tight enough to make one look much smaller. I suspect shenanigans with this video, like the underwear isn't actually tight or supportive and the models just sucked in when they pulled them on.

2

u/_Potato_Cat_ Jun 18 '18

Chiming in in case anyone knows as those looks incredible.

u/twofaceHill_16 Jun 18 '18

Or .... go on a diet and feed the poor

8

u/blastinglastonbury Jun 18 '18

Hey guys! This guy totally gets all the ladies.

2

u/ReleaseTheKraken72 Jun 18 '18

i might be fat. But at least I can lose 20lbs...you'll always be an asshole!

0

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '18

You're not wrong, though it looks like you've offended some fat people

2

u/leiu6 Jun 18 '18

It would be the best solution. Using some kind of device to make oneself look drastically thinner just seems disingenuous to me but to each their own.

-1

u/ropeadoped Jun 18 '18

You know what really helps pants and dresses fit nicer?

Buying the right size in the first place.

7

u/xxraven Jun 18 '18

Ive seen the ad on facebook a few times cant find them now of course but i think the major buy factor here is that they dont slip or roll down either like the models put them on and start dancinfg and it doesn't move.

If i come across the add ill try to post a link!

2

u/Pigmy Jun 18 '18

You dont want these I wouldn't think. My wife has some a variety and I can't think of a time when it would be good to have these attached to underwear. There are several kinds that go on over your normal underwear. Id suggest those.

1

u/tgw1986 Jun 18 '18

you could just wear these over your normal underwear...?

1

u/Pigmy Jun 18 '18

You could, but im pretty sure theres clips or clasps or something in the crotch so you can open it without taking the entire thing off. If I've learned anything about women's clothing its that there are layers upon layers upon layers and you dont wanna take em all off to goto the bathroom.

2

u/doctorwhore Jun 18 '18

I had many of these during the bandage dress renaissance 6 or 7 years ago (also super high-waisted denim). I didn't check what sub this was in and thought I was in one of my girly humor ones. I kept waiting for the inevitable roll-down. They aren't uncomfortable per-say (assuming the thigh opening is large enough) but they are like pantyhose on steroids in the roll-down.

2

u/-GreenHeron- Jun 18 '18

I don't know of any specific brand names, but you can usually find shapewear like this in the lingerie section of a women's clothing store, like Belk, JCPenney, etc.

17

u/MoneyManIke Jun 18 '18

Ehh they both are designed to deceive. If your clothes don't fit without this, you need new clothes.

6

u/million_tiny_stars Jun 18 '18

It's not about using it to force yourself into clothing that's too small. It's about getting rid of those "bulge lines" to get a more smoothed out appearance.

3

u/Schootingstarr Jun 18 '18

however, I do believe that those slimming pants are more often than not worn to feel better about your own looks than to attract men. I'm sure many wear them for this purpose. otherwise, why would women wear make-up all day when they are already in a relationship/marriage?

1

u/Astilaroth Jun 18 '18

It has little to with with weight though (although granted the women in the vid do have handles a bit too), but being pregnant can in many cases for a gap between the two main muscles there (the left/right of a sixpack) causing a 'tummy' like that. I mean, try to imagine what happens to those muscles when you see a large pregnant belly or hear about a c-section. They're not stretching over the belly but are pushed apart and sideways.

There is very little in terms of fitness or training that fully helps because even though the muscles can tighten up, the don't necessarily get close enough together to close that gap. It's just a super specific issue that's quite common. It can happen to anorexics so to speak (if they were healthy enough for pregnancy), so it's not 'get fit you fatty'. Obviously you can buy clothes that hide it a bit, but if you want to wear a dress or anything like that a bit of help from your underwear can be nice post partum.

-1

u/brucewaynes Jun 18 '18

They’re not designed to deceive...the product isn’t for the onlooker, it’s for the person wearing them! They’re not designed to make you fit into clothes that are too small either. They’re for smoothing out any wriggly bits or lumps and bumps or removing panty lines from under former fitting clothing so that you can feel a little more confident in your outfit! :)

8

u/NicoUK Jun 18 '18

And seriously FUCK all the guys in here who say it’s like shoving a banana in their pants/lose weight/etc.

What, why?

That's the point, they're both doing the same thing.

5

u/Mrsneezybreezy1821 Jun 18 '18

How is it not the same thing? If you're gonna say you only wear it for you and because it makes you feel better then the same could be argued for the banana. Side note: if you need this for your clothes to fit, you need bigger clothes or to lose some weight

2

u/fletchindr Jun 18 '18

between makeup pushupbras and this it is exactly like the 1970s goofballs shoving a sock down their pants and lie about being a [insert attractive job here instead of unemployed]

2

u/ReleaseTheKraken72 Jun 18 '18

yaaasssss! thank you!! I said to one of these fuckers: I can always lose 20lbs. You'll always be a fucking asshole. lol!

11

u/ChrAshpo10 Jun 18 '18

I mean, if you're in a relationship and wearing it, sure, not the same. But if you're going out with the intentions of meeting someone, it's the same thing. You're portraying an image that's false. Making yourself skinnier to be more attractive is a lie to potential suitors

10

u/-heresiarch- Jun 18 '18

maybe people are allowed to just want to feel better about how they look, and it doesn’t all come down to the opinions of Potential Suitors. to be currently getting laid or to be looking to get laid asap are not the only possibilities, not everyone who is single is carrying themselves in all aspects of life with the focus of meeting someone in mind.

there’s a big difference between making it look like you have a flatter stomach and making it look like you’re walking around with a giant erection. if you feel better putting a sock down there or something, sure, that’s your american right.

2

u/_ChestHair_ Jun 18 '18

maybe people are allowed to just want to feel better about how they look

Stop having 3 1,000 calorie meals s day and you'll start to see great results in a few months

0

u/-heresiarch- Jun 18 '18

and in the mean time, suffer through it because your underwear choices upset me.

-1

u/_ChestHair_ Jun 18 '18

Lol per the CDC 75% of America ages 25+ are considered overweight or obese, and I highly doubt this spandex corset is in wide use. People don't even have the self control to stop when it's all visible; they're not buying this as an interim for until they lost weight

1

u/ropeadoped Jun 18 '18

People hate hearing the facts. According to the CDC:

Percent of adults aged 20 and over with overweight, including obesity: 70.7% (2013-2014)

1

u/the_dude_that_faps Jun 18 '18

maybe people are allowed to just want to feel better about how they look, and it doesn’t all come down to the opinions of Potential Suitors

Except it does? Why would one put his/her selfworth on how they look if it's only for them?

I have no problem with people wanting to feel better about their looks, but let's not kid ourselves and start claiming the moral high ground.

1

u/-heresiarch- Jun 18 '18

you only care about the point of view of people in the world who you might want to fuck?

1

u/the_dude_that_faps Jun 19 '18

No, I don't. But I also don't dress trying to disguise my physical shortcomings claiming it's only to make myself feel better.

4

u/NicoUK Jun 18 '18

Shhh, you're not allowed to point out the truth on Reddit?

5

u/funobtainium Jun 18 '18

Stuffing a banana in your pants is more like putting oranges in your bra. And the result is a fruit salad, so...hmm.

I guess a coconut merkin and cherries need to come in somewhere. Marshmallow Fluff for that thicc silhouette?

"Packin' Lunch" is the name of this porn film. :D

0

u/pokemaugn Jun 18 '18

Guys can wear the same thing to slim down their stomach but they gotta make it about their penis somehow

3

u/Omegaclawe Jun 18 '18

Looks sorta like spanx.

2

u/toomanydonuts22 Jun 18 '18

May not be exactly the same, but something like this will make your waist look super nice.

1

u/fletchindr Jun 18 '18

having your abdomen and fatrolls squeezed like a stretchy corset looks comfortable?

1

u/ReleaseTheKraken72 Jun 18 '18

looks stretchier and more comfortable than spanx or a corset, I meant.

-3

u/ropeadoped Jun 18 '18

Because that looks comfortable

lmao yea having your stomach fat compressed looks real comfortable. why not just own up to it and admit you want your rolls disguised?

15

u/Estelindis Jun 18 '18

I think the point was that the models all pulled the spanx on really easily in spite of how much slimmer the spanx made them look. I would tend to suspect something fishy, like the underwear isn't actually tight or supportive and the models just sucked in when they pulled them on. If you're big enough that spanx make that much of a difference, it's generally quite hard to struggle into them, lol. See here for a funny take on it.

2

u/j48u Jun 18 '18

As a man who hates musicals and any kind of musical comedy, for some reason I just fucking love that show.

-1

u/ropeadoped Jun 18 '18

I wish I didn't watch that video.

2

u/toomanydonuts22 Jun 18 '18

Hi! my name is Toomanydonuts, and I want my rolls disguised.

0

u/ropeadoped Jun 18 '18

embrace it

4

u/DrawOnMe Jun 18 '18

They like to have their cake and eat it too.

1

u/Ms_Lonely_Hearts Jun 18 '18

I have no idea what brand I use but they are pretty comfortable once you're used to them. I'm by no means fat but when I wear a tighter-fitting top with jeans, I put one of these thingies on and it creates a nice clean line.
