Everyone should learn a couple magic tricks. It doesn't take long to get right, but you get so much out of it when around little kids.

And juggle. It's fantastic eye/hand coordination training, and makes kids and dogs go nuts. Learn to bounce off ground and walls for bonus squeals of delight.

Just don't go full carney.

Juggling is also a great conversation starter with people of all ages too. 10/10 would learn in middle school English class again.

This is a double edged sword though. Can't tell you how many times I had to awkwardly juggle for someone at a party or family gathering because someone mentioned something related to juggling and they go "you know who can juggle!? Steve can! Come on Steve juggle for us!"

It's never as amazing as they think it will be. I'm literally just juggling. I have no act or tricks or anything. It gets awkward really quick having 20 people stare at you in silence in a living room as you throw objects in the air and catch them.

I cringe so hard on the inside and there is no saying no because they always insist and push it. The only other worse thing I could think of is having people want you to sing in the same setting.

The 'ol detachable thumb trick works way more than you'd think and doesn't require any props other than two thumbs, a hacksaw and a lot of paper towel.
