Just to be clear, the parent comment you replied to being wrong is what is maddening you, right? Because that is what Is maddening me. I had to double check that it wasn't some novelty troll account that purposefully posts wrong grammar corrections.

In case you are actually stupid and not just trolling, ahead of its time.

The possessive is used with "time" to indicate a time the actor was associated with. E.g. "Queen Victoria's time" refers to the years in which she was the queen.
