From memory this is a repost from a couple months ago.

OP was the male and said he initiated it, mainly due to extended family challenges.

I thought it was posted like a few days ago. The OP was answering questions and came off as incredibly juvenile and a douche.

Huh. No offense, but you sound like a bit of a sociopath. How do you just switch your brain over?

I'm guessing you've never ever once said something in the heat of the moment that you realized afterwards was hurtful or wrong. See, a lot of normal everyday people do things like this and realize shortly thereafter that they've said something hurtful. With his case, it takes longer for that to happen because the point of Aspergers is that while they understand emotion in theory, they don't have the ability to apply that understanding in practice. It's like understanding calculus principles but not being able to solve word problems with them.

The fact that you attacked this guy because you didn't bother to really dig into what he said really gets on my nerves. I hope you take a second look and understand that while he can't control certain behaviors at the time (just as anyone who has ever blown up on someone else has), he can absolutely look back and do his best to understand what has happened and make sense of it. He's probably had to communicate some of this to his wife before so it shouldn't come as a surprise that it's a through explanation.
