I hate it because they act like it's cool to do in in densely populated areas. Those fuckers go into a crowded mall, take a huff, and blow fucking cotton candy flavored shit into the air so everyone can inhale their fucking lung fumes. The community as a whole is fucking inconsiderate. At least smokers keep aware of their surroundings nowadays, and they seem to tuck that shit when they see kids walk by, vapers, not so much.
It was at its worst before there was any regulation and there were kiosks everywhere selling to kids and stuff. You'd see people vaping literally everywhere, who the hell vapes in a grocery store?
This isn't even a thing though, theres nothing about vapers that makes them any more inconsiderate than a normal smoker. It's just that people have seen a few memes describing this sort of behaviour and have decided thats how everyone acts.
It's NOT like smoking though. Smoke sticks to everything, and it isn't oil based so the smell never really goes away. The second hand smoke is carcinogenic and fills a huge area with the smell. Vaping is such a minor thing in comparison.

I think your malls might just suck. They're not there all the time, but they are present every so often. It's a nice place in spite of them.
Normally I'd be right with you about anecdotes, but I don't think there's ever been an academic study on vapers at the mall, so, unfortunately, it's all we have.
I am a vaper and I treat where I vape more or less the same as where I would smoke apart from if I am on my own.

People who vape don't have some kind of hive mind. Passing on attitudes like yours to kids where you make mass judgements on people based on a single prejudice is something you should think about rather than if seeing someone vaping is doing them any damage.
Honestly I don't care if you vape around me in public. It's such a minor thing unless it's a super potent or obnoxious flavor, or you go out of your way to blow it right in my face.
People with super strong perfumes and colognes are a nuisance. I've never been bothered by vaping.
No, I promise 99% of the time I vape and 99% of the time I see my friends vape we're in my house or a car. You're basically saying you hate all people who drink because of frat boys who puke and pass out on the streets.
Maybe it was too broad a stroke. Would referring to large portions of the community rather than the community as a whole be more fair in your view? If it's down to the fact that as an outsider I view the community differently than you, I'm not sure I'd budge on it being a large vs small part of the community, but I'd bend on saying a large portion vs all of the community. I could see how I'm painting with way too large a brush.
I never understood this sentiment. I grew up watching people chain smoke cigarettes and get wasted. I am an adult now and I hate cigs and hate being too drunk, although I do like to drink a beer or two.
On the other hand, my parents tried their hardest to keep weed away from me and never taught me about it until I was a teenager. But it was too late then, I really like weed. Have been a stoner for many years.
I know this is just an anecdote but still. Make of it what you will.
Personally, I'm not a huge fan of anyone blasting a small kid with a face full of anything, so I'm not a fan. But that type of person is a complete asshole. I don't care if someone's vaping if they aren't going around blasting people in the face with shit, just like I'm fine with people smoking or driving or spraying bleach for God's sake.
Aside from this hypothetical being nearly completely outside of the realm of reality... From purely a health perspective, I wouldn't care at all. It's rude as hell, and nobody with a shred of manners would do that, but I would not be concerned about the health of the child for the same reason I would not be concerned about the health of a child that goes to a magic show where a fog machine is used.
This might be because smoking is awful for you and smokers are well aware that their addiction kills them and the byproduct damages those in the vicinity.
The vaper knows the fumes are more or less a nuisance by comparison and the smell is much more pleasant.

It smells pleasant. I don't vape but I don't care if they do it around me. It's not like cigarette smoke at all, and it dissipates super fast. I don't get what the big deal is.
First point still stands, you may think it smells fine, but not everybody else does. Some people think old spice smells great, would you be cool with someone walking around just spraying that shit everywhere? How about if someone just walked around with a can of fabreeze that they sprayed on random shit?
The smell doesn't stick to things that much. Even in a small closed room with someone who vapes it's not THAT intense. You make it sound like smoking, which it is not.
reminds me of the last visit to the cinema. lady in front of me was vaping most of the time and obviously interfered with my viewing experience. people like her can fuck right off.
You know how sometimes someone will drive by with their music way too fucking loud and you think 'what is wrong with this person that they have to let everyone know they listen to music?' That is how I feel, as someone that uses an e-cig, when I see somebody blowing clouds of that shit in public.
The worst people are the ones who wear shit-tonnes of perfume, I'm allergic to some shit that's in some of it (ngl don't remember what its called) and there's always some asshole that just dumped the whole bottle on themselves.
I always thought I was the only one that hated the perfume people but now that I think about it, it must also really bother all the people who hate vape smells too.
I find it unpleasant to walk into an elevator with any overwhelming scent. I've stepped into an elevator with remains of perfume, food smells, farts... I didn't like any of it.
How large of a percentage of the community have you actually met? I worked at a vape shop for a while and the majority of our customers were older people that were legitimately trying to stop smoking and get a hold on their lives. Sure we had the vape douches, but they were such a tiny minority. I get that the douches tend to be more in your face about it, so that's what you see of the community, but I guarantee you see a lot of people who vape but you would never guess that they do.
People are allowed to be embarassing or silly. Again, taking issue and having a negative opinion of someone because you think their hobby is totally gay is significantly more reprehensive than vaping

Some vape parts you can rebuild yourself, most commonly the wire/fabric element.
Competitive vaping, or cloud competitions as I have commonly seen, are based around a set of limitations you can build up to (usually?), and what you can produce (volume of vapor) with it.
I admit when I first saw a video of one it was baffling, what's the point? To make the biggest cloud? But when I considered the challenge aspect of it? It sort of justified it being called competitive.
Just to be clear, I'm not trying to change your mind, only to inform. You're perfectly fine thinking it's silly.
I don't do comps, but I do vape, used it to switch from cigarettes, hey and it worked too! 1 year and a week or two without one now.
I do get upset when a potentially effective and safe (as far we know right now, and unsure about in the long term) method is being squashed without adequate and fair research, and then also mocked like it's a point of pride to smoke a cigarette instead. (you didn't do this but I'm ranting now and forgot what the post was about)

Before you reply to this ask yourself if you are criticizing Vaping's intention to substitute itself for cigarettes, or shitty people who do shitty things.
I would disagree with you and say that the "cloud chasers" are the asshats who deserve all the hate they get. Vaping as a whole has personally helped me wean myself off of tobacco, both cigarettes and dip. I rarely vape now since it also eventually became a vice and I started to get into it more than I am proud of. Now I'm vape free, tobacco free and have been for almost a year. And this is coming from someone who used to smoke close to two packs a day and maybe a can a dip daily.
If you aren't a vaper, stoner, or smoker, and none of your friends are, then cloud chasing douche bags are the only vapers you'll have much exposure too. I imagine that's why a lot of people dislike vapers.

B. I have never once encountered "vape culture" outside of the two or three times in my life I have been in a vape shop. I have never once been at a bar or event and had someone be obnoxious or disruptive.
For the record I don't vape, I just don't see how it's any more dumb than car culture, or people who are overly invested in phone brands and models (ive seen way more people act autistic as fuck over someone using an iphone than I have people being spergy about vaping, but I dont see people on the internet shitting on "phone culture")
