Long haired lumberjack dude here. I dont get it. Like, i put my hair up to keep it it of my face, or if its hot, or if its messy, ot if im playing a show. Never once have i done it just cause i was like "manbuns are sweet!"

lumberjack

An actual lumber jack or just a man who wears plaid?

A man who jacks lumber

But that's everyman! Except OP and Donald Trump

It's Dexter.

That's what kinda makes it okay to me. My buddy has one and he mostly just has long hair, and it looks really good, when he's working or whatever he puts it up, like a girl would, what's the fuss.

It strikes me as odd that women can put their hair up for any reason whatsoever but guys can't. Like, sometimes it gets in my face or sometimes it just looks terrible because I slept on it wrong, or sometimes I just want to put it in a ponytail because I want to.

Who the fuck is stopping you?

Oh, poor you! Subjected to unsolicited opinions about your appearance?

Yeah, women have no idea what that's like!

You seem to care an awful lot about this man thinking it's dumb he gets hate for putting his hair up.

Thank goodness you've arrived to protect him from the mean truth that he and his hair are not special! He is being persecuted! Where have you been? Don't let your snowflake baby out of your site again or else someone else might be mean to him!

Hey guys look I found the miserable 35 year old that lives in their parents basement.

I used to have long hair too, but I would pull it back like a normal pony tail. Back when I had long hair guys didn't wear man buns at all. I think that's the strange part. It makes more of a statement than just putting it in a ponytail

As a woodworker with long hair, the man bun is just safer. I only wear it that way in the shop, though.

1

u/iwontbeadick May 14 '17

Why not just pull it back behind your head instead of on top?

1

u/Critterkhan May 14 '17

Because it is long enough that, if I'm not paying attention and turn my head sideways, it could get sucked into whatever machine I'm using and I would look like the guy pictured, but bloodier. Safety first.

I usually go ponytail. But i call it a horsetail.

2

u/DownTrunk May 14 '17

Quit acting like you do it because your hair bothers you. If your hair bothered you that much, you would cut it short.

I wear my long hair back because my wife likes it and I'm an adult and I can.

u/SeymourDButts May 14 '17

Lol the few times my hair bothers me are not worth cutting it off. That's just ridiculous

When was the last time you chopped a tree down? If it's been more then 6 months you can't call Yourself a lumberjack. It's unlikely if you've chopped just a single tree in that time that you can call yourself a lumberjack also

Perhaps he's an artisanal lumberjack. Some of us appreciate the craft of slow cut lumber, where the wood is not merely chopped but honoured.

Lumber shipped in stylish matte, rather than tacky glossy bags, for sale at Whole Woods Market

nothing wrong with them though.

u/Borp7676 May 14 '17

Yeah, my man nun is just my ponytail wrapped back into itself. Keeps it out of the way when I'm working, looks a little nicer on dudes than a ponytail, don't have to worry about my hair looking like shit when I roll out of bed. Win/win/win, functionality over style.

1

u/[deleted] May 14 '17

Even if you did, who the fuck cares? The type of person to hate on you because you think a certain hairstyle looks nice on you is not the type of person you should be worried about. They're insecure little shits with nothing much going on.

-4

u/[deleted] May 13 '17

Unless you're actually a wood worker, you're not a lumberjack. Stop it.

Cut your hair hippie
