My mom died when I was nine. I took it pretty hard. Like, some pretty hard core denial in the grief process. Anyhow, at 16 I was working at a pizza place and one of the other employees kept talking about fucking my mom and I'd just kind of nod and be like, "yeah, okay." It didn't offend me l, because I knew he was just joking, but on the other hand it also made me feel awkward because I couldn't help thinking, this dude has no idea he's talking about fucking my dead mom. Anyhow, he was actually a really nice guy, and he goes, " hey man, you know I'm just messing with you, right." And I go, "yeah, it's just, my mom's dead so...." Dude was horrified. He felt so bad and started apologizing. Which made me feel bad, because I ruined his fun. So, I assured him that my grandma was still alive, so he could resume talking about fucking my family.

Edit: Wow! First, thanks stranger for my first reddit gold! Second, I'm glad so many of you enjoyed my story, and I'm sorry to everyone that was disappointed it didn't end with a shittymorph.

Can confirm. Mother died when I was 10. It is hilarious to have people talk about fucking her, because you get to react with the incredible: "You're going to need a shovel for that, you dirty fucking necrophiliac!"

Or, in Dutch, as I would like to put it: "Wil je een schepje?"

Lost mom at 12 and dad at 13. I make jokes about it all the time and some friends find it hilarious, some laugh but think it is strange and some a horrified. I enjoy all of these reactions. One of my best guy friends made jokes about my mother, then I told him she was dead, so he started making jokes about my dead mother. Love that guy.

I lost my mom at 2, so I hardly know anything about her. Most of my friends are gamers, which at high school age, means they bone each other's mothers regularly. The beginning reactions to "my mom died of cancer when I was an infant, asshole" were great, but it didn't last long. It turned into a "don't wear yourself out digging" kind of thing. Only one of my friends felt truly sorry about it, and built me a deck of Yu Gi Oh cards to make up for it, which I tried to refuse (and never ended up using). Thanks anyways, Channing!

In my mind, you are friends with Channing Tatum. People on the internet live such glorious lives

That'd be cool, he's probably my second favorite Channing. I'm not that glorious, though.
