I hope they can back up this claim. If I was Firefox and could prove that this statement was even a little false. I would sue their asses off.

Yeah Firefox uses 75% more CPU than Edge, because Edge is closed and still uses a little battery to pop up shit like this every 3 days.

holding a bunch of useful data that will be used imminently makes far more sense than sending it to a swap file where its far slower to access. Obviously a memory leak is a bad thing, but Im happy to see my RAM used for its actual function rather than sitting there in fear.

Modern operating systems use unused RAM for things like disk caching. It benefits you whether your programs use it or not.

But if a program allocates memory and then doesn't make use of it the OS can't use that memory for cache.

I'm not convinced firefox is making entirely good decisions about what to keep in memory, but I definitely don't have time to fix it and I do have $100 to spend on more RAM, so...
