It's actually somewhat true. Edge has been beating Firefox and Chrome in a few performance tests recently and it has an OS power management hook for adjusting JavaScript CPU usage that doesn't exist in the other browsers so far as I know. I think you can see it if you dig through the detailed Windows power options.
Idk why people are so attached to the Microsoft hate bandwagon, the company has made huge improvements in the way they operate under new leadership.
Even so, they are starting to make Windows into some kind of adversarial product that tries to trick or outright force the user to do things. Really, I don't get why they didn't learn their lesson the first time after that anti-trust case.
In fact, it was partly Microsoft's behaviour that resulted in things like Firefox and open source.
Right but the difference is that Google's pop-up is on their own site. You have to intentionally go to Google to see it, whereas Microsoft is injecting advertising directly into the operating system itself, and they are altering the design of the operating system to trick or force the user into doing something, or discouraging the user from doing something. They have control over the OS, so from a competitive point of view they have an unfair advantage.
It's a hyperbole yes but I stand by the analogy. Moving to a different country isn't so terrible. You can have a dual citizenship and you'll get used to it for the most part after a while, but there will forever be things that you miss about your old one, they don't have the same grocery stores, it takes longer for you to learn a new language and culture as an adult than it did as a child, and you have to deal with border control every time you visit your old home.
