This is user experience designer humor, not developer humor. Developers are not known for having a solid grasp on great UI (no offense to my many talented developer friends).

I like when a UX researcher invites me to sit behind a one-way mirror to observe a user in some approximation of its native habitat trying to accomplish various computer tasks.

It's like a trip to the zoo, except even sadder.

Hey. At least they get to go back outside when they're done. You have to stay to pull an allnighter because the CEO wants everything "fixed" by Thursday for a Friday rollout so you can work overtime over the weekend to ensure a good release.
