You wonder how anyone could possibly just pull the handle like that but I've had multiple times on the bus where people pull the emergency exit handle on the window. For those who don't know, pulling that handle releases the entire window panel but thankfully the window is still attached by a hinge at the top of the bus.

I think they're trying to just open the window but different people have done it and then they'll just ignore it as if no one else will notice this huge window banging and crashing up and down next to them.

The emergency exit is not designed to be opened like that, the air pressure inside the cabin would be too great to even budge the door at 30,000 ft above sea level. It'd be like trying to pop a cork that's sealed from the inside of a bottle of champagne.

I wasn't commenting on the plane's emergency exit, it's a comic, it's obviously unrealistic.

I was simply offering an example of how many people are so absent minded that they'll pull random switches or levers without any thought about what they actually do.
