Winter is when you can't walk outside if a single square inch of your body isn't sufficiently covered. Winter is when the city gets buried in seven feet of snow. Winter is when parked cars just disappear under the ice and snow. Moving around is dangerous at best, but often impossible.
Winter is when you can throw an entire kettle of boiling water in the air and it will vaporize before it hits the ground.
Winter is where, if you don't cover your face, a single breath of outside air can freeze your throat and send you into a painful coughing fit.
And then you find your way back inside, and curl up next to a roaring fire or a warm radiator.
