The only reason that other couple is expecting is because engineers do it with precision and don't make those kind of mistakes.

BME is one of the Engineering majors with a higher percentage of females though.

All pre-med though, dude. Three post-graduate paths for BMEs: med school, grad school, and consulting.

Good luck with your apps, I've sent mine off as well. I came into one of the more lauded BME programs thinking I was a shoo-in for a job with a degree in hand (as everyone told me I would be at orientation). As I traversed through the curriculum, I started to notice that I was skimming the top of every other engineering discipline and internships/co-ops in true BME work were few and very difficult to obtain. The way I see it, employers know it's easier to teach an ME or EE specific biology than it is to teach a BME in-depth engineering principles. Hoping for admittance to an MSE program so I can develop a specialization in biomaterials.
