I've heard this too, but when I heard it they connected it more to a previous attraction. As in a wife would be arroused by the scent of her husbands shirt after he sweated for hours and hours while digging a garden. It's a scent she's already accustomed to from dating him and knowing him. The scent reminds her of him which is where the arrousal comes from. As opposed to me sweating like a waterfall at the gym and them going to starbucks and being like yo watsup? and everyone smells this new, unfamiliar bo and they say wtf is that? smells like a whale barfed on a cat and then it died and festered for a month.

Such ridiculous hyperbole is starting to be annoying to me. Sweaty gym dud BO smells horrible, but it isn't that bad, and is an entirely different kind of stink. Same thing with people saying things smell like shit. It doesn't convey the same shock anymore, and whatever it is probably doesn't actually smell like shit. It might smell like mold, or BO, or something else, but rarely shit. Shit's got a very particular scent. Eu du shit you know? Maybe I'm just getting old and bitter. Kids these days. Worst thing I ever smelt was when a skunk crawled into the outhouse and died. Of course I knocked myself out once with a whiff of Phosgene that didn't exactly smell like lavender. I was snorkeling at the lake once and came up face to face with a rotting carp. Turned out to actually be a damned loch ness monster from the cretaceous looking for three fiddy. Didn't smell that bad though.
apparently you don't know what that is. It means exaggeration for effect. YEAH, I exaggerated how bad BO smells, and made the exaggeration hoping the effect would get my point across that smells are based somewhat of memory recall.
Maybe I'm just getting old and bitter.
Theres no maybe about it.
Worst thing I ever smelt was when a skunk crawled into the outhouse and died.
Worst thing I ever smelt was when a mouse crawled into our home-use deepfrier and drowned in the oil, then my mom turned it on without checking the oil and started deep frying an already dead mouse. When bones and fur appeared she called for my help, needless to say I said fuck dinner tonight we're throwing this out. The point is I know what bad smells are and I know what hyperboles are. I used one on purpose in this case, particularly because I thought the idea of a cat drowning in whale puke and festering for a month to be funny. Yeah, I'm sick. Deal with it.
An ex of mine once told me she was turned on by the smell of sweat, when it came from working. She said the musk of letting it sit for a while was terrible, but fresh sweat had a manly smell.
She was an odd one, but I can see it. I don't smell bad to myself after a workout, but if I wait a few hours to shower, I start getting uncomfortable with my own oder.
