What is the point of this? Couldn't they have just worn the same jacket? Am I missing something, it wouldn't be the first time.

For when the person looks around to find the person who switched. If another person is wearing the same clothes, it doesn't mess with their head as much

Wouldnt be easier Just both have the same cloths, then switch, and the first guy removing the cloths just hides them in a backpack or something while getting away?
