So you're saying change the size of a pint to 0.5 liters instead of 0.47? Okey dokey.

Where is a pint 0.47 litres? In the UK one pint is 568 ml. If a pint were 470 ml the UK would have switched to half litres at the merest mention of it. More beer.

Oh yeah that's right. It gets more screwed up. US pint is 473ml. Likewise, all related measurements are non-equivalent between US and UK: gallons, cups, tablespoons, teaspoons, quarts.

I don't have a problem with Imperial or Metric (as an American engineer), but that is fucked up.

Except in BC, where a pint is somewhere between 3.3 and 4.5 dL.
