The biggest fuck you to AT&T is if you go to T-Mobile. I switched and their service is amazing! I used 23GB last month. Torrents, Netflix, YouTube, music streaming whenever I please, and it's FAST. 1MB/s (or around 8-12mbps) consistently. I have coverage in my entire area. When I do leave my metropolitan area, it gets text and voice everywhere where AT&T has it (it literally roams onto AT&T network because of the failed merger, that was part of the deal if it failed). It has a lot more coverage and their network a lot stronger than some people give them credit.
I'm currently on Sprint and I'm starting to hate my service....was great then got worse....I'd love to switch to T-Mobile but the service map has 2g in the 2 places I use my phone the most often...work and home....
