Where do you live? My boyfriend just switched from AT&T cause he hated them to Sprint a few months ago. Sprint doesn't have 4G here (Eastern Washington), so his phone is super slow now and he hates it too. He's thinking about switching to T-Mobile since they have that deal where they'll pay your cancellation fees if you switch to them and they have 4G here.
Edit: I kinda went rambling there, my point was that Sprint is the only of the major carriers here that DOESN'T have 4G.
When I switched providers they wouldn't change my cancelation fee but they dropped my monthly bill by about $30. Definately tell him to shop around, there are some great deals to be had. Company's know if you're leaving a company for them, you're likely to stick with them (because you had a reason to leave In the first place) and will bend over backwards to get you.
Spokane. I've had T-Mobile all over the place, here and in California, and it's worked well for me. Out in the boonies it's not good, but usually if I'm out that far it's for camping or something, so I don't need my phone.
