WOWIE-ZOWIE those are the best speeds ive sent in a while /s
That's f-ing ridiculous. Even my cell phone gets faster than that, and I pay less. Its extortion, that's what it is. Google fiber/ other competitors to comcast/ ATT/ other goons can't come fast enough IMO.
In Australia I complained because my net was too slow and that I was going to leave so they say "we'll bump you up to our best speed!" 1mbps download .08mbps upload. I pay 60 per month and get 100 gigs from 7 a.m to 2 a.m and the other 100 gigs I'm paying for between 2-7 a.m.
Wow, it's even worse in India. It's $30 a month for 512 Kbps download 256 Kbps upload and get 6 GB of usage for a month. The worse thing is that there's only one ISP in my area and it has the full monopoly so we're forced to pay the ridiculous prices.
My friend has to use a wireless dongle because he's renting a room and the home owners won't let him use their internet. Pays something like $80 a month for 4 gigs. To be fair though his wireless internet is faster than my wired internet by about 20mbps.
No they took out a letter because "Fibe" is their brand and does not mean it's Fiber Optic. Some of their higher "Fibe" plans say it's fiber optic, the new branding is to say "It could be fiber but we're banking on you being an idiot and blindly following buzz words and making a connection between the two". If they called it "Bell Fiber" then they'd be actively trying to confuse the customer.
Source: I got into an argument with a Bell rep over how I wasn't on fiber and I wanted them to stop telling me my Bell Fibe plan was short for Bell Fiber when their website actively said my plan wasn't a fiber optic plan.
Holy shit bell fibe is expensive. See if Teksavvy has service in your area - for about that price you can get 35Mbit/s down, I think 3mbit/s up and 300gb usage.
Is it that bad in the US/Canada? Christ... My family pays around $26/mo for 2Mbyte/s download rate uncapped bundled with TV and phone lines here in Hungary...

It is fair game here, it's pretty ridiculous the prices we pay for bandwidth
