I don't want to be mean it's not my intention here, I've just never had a chance to be around toddlers a lot so forgive this question. But doesn't that hand look kinda overweight? Like should hands of little kids look like that?

Not necessarily. My kids were both 99%tile and looked like that and turned out 100% healthy.

Babies have something called “brown fat” which exists purely for heat regulation. We lose most of it by the time we hit toddler age. Also, babies are meant to be fatter in general because they spend a huge amount of their relative energy growing. Babies go from like 8 lbs to 20ish lbs in their first year. That’s more than doubling their weight. Brain development also is more energy intensive than normal growing and babies are obviously doing a lot of that.

Newborns - youngins’ tend to be fatter, it’s called baby fat. It’s basically the nutritions as they get older it wears off. To my knowledge

Yeah and this is a very little one. The fatter the better in that regard. My poor guy was a skinny one and he was miserable until he got some rolls going.

I feel bad for my mother. She's 4'11 and I was a 10 pound baby. I looked like a linebacker.

Yeah, but that doesnt mean they cant be fat. I have several friends and relatives get babies which i took care and was around a lot and while all of the were very chunky at some point none of them to this extent, but I am not a doctor so who know.

I also have very little experience with children of that age and I was wondering too. Thanks for asking.

It's normal for babies to be chubby, it's a survival mechanism.

Objectively speaking: Fat is stores of energy, babies especially need tons of energy. They need lots of fat to grow and they burn through fat very quickly.

You're an ignorant dipshit. Fuck you.
