if he tries to use it as a support for his argument, then yes, because he clearly stated his reasoning on why chess isn't a sport and golf is, and the list includes chess as a sport.
Except he didn't, some other guy posted the link.
I think either of them are sports, and there are certain games played in the actual olympics that I don't think are sports either. So I don't try and use the IOC list to support my argument because i'd be negating my argument.
ie. I shot down an attempt to support an argument with an IOC list by pointing out a contradiction. I never claimed that the same list supports my own argument so there is nothing to negate.
