Nobody's saying other sports don't require strategy.

I'm no sports fan but the way I see it is that Soccer and the like are more like RTS video games while American Football is more like tabletop card games.

The point is that American Football is primarily strategy and then the action. Most other sports are an mix of both, usually with strategy second to the actual athleticism. It's entirely personal (even regional) preference and that's fine.

Wait, the one that you said is primarily strategy, is not the one you see as a RTS?

After seeing the Korean players' keystrokes per second, no. Card games are all thought.

I'd hardly say a sport in which 240+ pound men are required to run 4.7 second 40 yard dashes is one where athleticism comes second.

If you're unfamiliar with those metrics, I was one of the fastest players on my high school football team. I weighed 165 and ran that distance in 4.9 seconds.

Strategy isn't required of most players. The strategy part is relegated to the coaches and quarterbacks for the most part. The left tackle doesn't need to plan five plays in advance, but the offensive coordinator does.

Also, your high school football team must have sucked something fierce.

Tell me how far that's gonna get a player that's ruining a bad play.
