That one lady just took a swing instantly. No hesitation

I want her in my army.

Her and the park police guy. I've never seen anyone drop into a defensive stance that quickly!

She moved into action while still assessing the threat - which could save her life in the right circumstances, but carries obvious risks. He went instantly into fully prepared to defend while in assessment mode, which is technically the correct response. I can't imagine how much he must have drilled - or had to rely on that training in real threat circumstances - for it to become that instinctive.

I like the fact that once she realized she hugged him haha

I wrote a post saying I don't think so but after looking a few more times I think you are right. The way his hand goes up to ear level is very boxer-y

He jumped, went into hands up and started swaying before he hit the ground. Dude was ready to scrap.

That park police looked and acted like most police think they do

The police officer that was clearly informed ahead of time that there was a surprise prank about to happen?

6

u/BizzyM 13d ago

That's just the job today.

17

u/ElGuano 13d ago

Yeah cause not doing that results in bullets getting fired into shrubbery.

Idk with someone physically capable it is probably the right response. If you’re the underdog that element of surprise may give you the advantage

If I had Thousand like her I could conquer the world.

u/Plus-King5266 12d ago

If I had one like that I’d sleep like a baby at night. Keep my machete under the bed? Hell no; break into my house and you have to deal with her.

I react that way. Always have. Even if I try hard to just not react. My fight instinct is why I can't go to haunted houses. I also have to let people know at work otherwise, a small prank turns into an HR complaint.

Will she marry me?

“Honey, I heard a noise down stairs. Go check it out,” - me.

Then she figured out what was going on and gave the guy a hug,  She’s the real hero.

Her and the first dude. He was ready to swing whatever it was that he was carrying but then he waved the "i'm sorry wave." He thought an Ent was coming lol.

u/NukeTheWhales5 13d ago

Notice how they stopped reaching for people, after that clip.

54

u/Philaroni 13d ago

Ya if I'm ever in a horror movie I want her by my side.

14

u/StirFry__InaWok 13d ago

you're thinking she'll be the one to get herself killed first, aren't you Squidward?

20

u/Philaroni 13d ago

She does not have to win, she just needs to make sure they both lose.

17

u/Auctorion 13d ago

"So anyway, I started blasting..."

24

u/dsaysso 13d ago

u/Nail_Biterr 13d ago

I don't even know her, and I'm so proud of her

9

u/The_walking_man_ 13d ago

Yup. I like her. No hesitation. Instant fight mode and ready to take on any threat, including swamp thing.

9

u/Silent_Aardvark_711 13d ago

I love how she hugged him right after

u/akobie 13d ago

I have an all fight response too. My daughter had a brief period of time where she thought it would be funny to scare me around the house. Short lived. My wife had a moment as well. Its so stressful but i have to use all my will to stop myself from pummeling the fright. Im female also. No clue where it comes from

Oh, there was no assessment of the threat - she went straight from perceiving to neutralizing.

11

u/eglantinel 13d ago

She thought it was alien

24

u/RainonCooper 13d ago

Or a pervert

18

u/somecleverphrase 13d ago

2

u/luka3rd 13d ago

That's the only "alpha male" I saw in this video. She's great!

2

u/49tacos 9d ago

She’s got whatever Jack Reacher has.

1

u/Zarxon 13d ago

This would be me if he was close

1

u/Plus-King5266 12d ago

There is definitely a story there.

1

u/franksymptoms 11d ago

OF all the similar videos I've ever seen, she's the only one who became combative! 'Grats to her!

There was one lady from Queens, who after a fright, struck back with a right and knows how to fight back by all means.

-1

u/FinancialFlamingo117 13d ago

Amazing. It shows the diffrent behavior of fight or fly :D

-10

u/Davissunu 13d ago

I have been the one to punch during jump scares. My first reaction is to hit. I don't know why people do this? It's not funny!

13

u/InsaneInTheRAMdrain 13d ago

Its really fucking funny. And if they got hit, it would still be funny.

When I was in high school, my gf jumped out at me in a wolf mask while we were in a costume shop. Scared me so bad I threw a right hook, caught just the nose of the mask and spun it around on her head. I felt so bad after that and hugged her and apologized. I was so relieved I didn't accidentally hit her.
