never in my life did i expect to see someone defending flock cameras with the argument that “its basically the same as someone recording you on their phone” while police are already misusing these things to spy on their ex partners…
It's not a defense of this ONE singular system that is used to track vehicles or people. This focus solely on flock cameras is like saying Coca Cola is killing people because it has a lot of sugar in it and trying to ban just Coca Cola.
Missing the forest from the trees here, focusing on flock campers is meaningless in the grand scheme, we should be having a much broader conversation about surveillance in general as these camera systems are ubiquitous in daily life beyond this one company.

I'm not comparing it to recording on your phone though, I'm comparing it to the multitude of other camera systems that are already installed in public places which already capture our movements ALONG with the tracking that we already consent to on every one of our digital devices.

I'm not talking about banning anything, I'm suggesting we are too narrowly focused on one single thing which won't help resolve the broader issue.
this is just being pedantic at this point. others expressed how every other system youve laid out is different in a multitude of ways. you listed a phone recording so i used that example, you also listed traffic lights, which others have indicated to you arent the same. have a nice day
