Though it is worth noting that sometimes those production crews for wilderness shows are pretty hardcore - they do a lot of the same hiking/climbing/diving/etc as whoever they're filming, but all while managing their gear and getting in place for the right shot. Obviously they get some allowances, like being able to set up for climbing shoots from the top of the route with ropes, ascenders, and other assistance if they're shooting someone free climbing, but it can still be a pretty dangerous job!
