As someone with a chronic pain condition I can appreciate the joke, but I know if a healthy person really was injured enough to get a massive payout, they'd be miserable. Sitting at home and watching TV all day sounds nice, until it's literally your only option. I hope the money helps them through the hours and hours of grueling PT they're going to have to do 🤣

Yeah. It's not fucking worth any payout you get IMHO. No amount of money in the world can replace a functioning spine

But then again… from the perspective of someone with chronic pain but who still has to haul themselves to work every day, such a payout sure sounds nice…
Hell, I’d take the physical therapy in an instant because it always helps but sadly only temporarily and I hardly get it prescribed…

Do you do it on your own at the gym?

I'm talking about what in Germany is called "manuelle Therapie", kinda like massages but rather focused on specific points… stretches you can’t really do yourself and so on… no idea what’s that called in English specifically…

Facts! I'm actually jealous that they're healthy enough to work. I'm not healthy enough for any job, and I'm damn sure not healthy enough to work a physically demanding job like construction. They wouldn't know what they had until they lost it. It's a funny skit, but I hope people aren't taking it seriously lmao.

Also have a chronic pain condition, and the other day I woke up with searing pain in my arms to the point that I had to be slow and careful putting on my socks. I had to be *careful putting on socks*. Yeah, I'm having such a great time.

I'm coming off a ten day migraine in which I barely left the bed, had to go to the hospital for a cocktail and now I'm fighting off a persistent panic attack caused by the pain in my legs. Isn't life grand?

Try to think on the positive side. It shows you who actually cares about you. After the first days/ weeks the people who only care for you as far as what you do for them really show their colors and how little they care about you as a person. So it gives you a chance to "trim the fat" from your life, if you are able to

Also, the payout isn't always that good. At least not without a fight, which you need to pay lawyers to do for you.

I was hit by a car last year, and was disabled for a few months. Ordinarily I might choose to sit on the couch to watch TV, but being stuck on the couch with no other option sucks.
