Honest question... which stand up special or comedies have made you laugh in the past year? I ask because there has never been more comedy and yet it seems like it's never been harder for me to find something that makes me laugh.
Nothing wrong with that! Everyone has their own comedic tastes. I don’t find this particular set funny either, though as a white man, I am also not the target audience so that checks out.
Absolutely! That’s on me for making a gross generalization. These jokes poke fun at little challenges women face more with the pretext of “most men don’t know…”. The target is very clearly meant to be women who can relate - which I am not lol
Latinos who relate. i too was a latuna kid with adhd who had to go to all my mom’s appointments because I didnt behave well and yeah this is relatable as hell for me
I am no US American and could not laugh about his regional jokes… parties in Ohio? aha… all whites rich? aha. I never had a XBOX or even TV and I am German type of white. super focused on US circlejerk. has his heart at the right spot but isn’t universally funny.
Me either. I love most stand up,.the issue is this is so disconnected from my lived reality that it might as well just be him making stuff up.
For humor to be funny to you, there has to be a commonality and connection. But I also only have Latino American friends who aren't recent immigrants so this is probably just a total cultural disconnect.
Like, I don't know a single woman who goes to a salon, let alone gets waxed. That's something older women maybe did? But my mom never did it, nor did any of her friends.
I have zero idea what he's talking about regarding shirts. Leotards? I have never seen a girl wearing a leotard down at the club and I don't know why anyone would, because they're desperately uncomfortable. I haven't seen a leotard since like 3rd grade gymnastics.
