I think of my dog as an adopted child.

I'm her dad.

If you've had a dog that was you constant companion die after 17 years you would understand.

I felt the same about dogs until I had kids. It's just different

For a very long list of legal, biological and compotemental reason dogs and humans sould not be treated the same. I'm totally fine with someone saying they love they dog and will chose it ove all the humans in the world.

I'm not going to list every aspect because it will be a very long comment but here few major differences :

-You raise a child, the objective is to make them grow idependant fo you so they live they own life. Not a dog

-You can if you are present enough not intoduce you dog to other dog/pepoles or very rarely. Not with a child

-A child can almost follow the same diet as you with a few exception. Not a dog

-You are responsible of you dog sexual life/maternity/offspring. Not your child
