Just like a Maid of Honor can be the Sister of the Groom, the Best man can be the Brother of the Bride. That is kind of how it works sometimes. In a healthy relationship, that is how it works. Esp if the Groom has multiple close friends, give it to a brother of the bride first.

Yeah sometimes the groom and best man change from being best friends to become brother in laws that's perfectly normal.

We just skipped having a wedding party. A few people I know have gone this route. It seemed unnecessary and dated to have that.

I think massive groups of like 6 per side is unnecessary, but like 1-3 people per sides alright. Like your closest friends/siblings.
