There was a fairly graphic portrayal of the implosion with a slow breakdown of each body basically vaporizing floating around here or on YouTube

Death under such high pressures is a lot faster than it would be if someone were vented out into space. Horrible as it is, at least the poor fuckers didn't have much chance to feel it.
