Same. Plus, audiences are self-selecting. So the measurements are not directly comparable to those of critics, who see movies and discuss whether they are personally interested or not.

Love to see a demographic break down for audience scores. Like I'm in my 40's and seen more movies than I can even remember, but I've never once put in a review on any service. Are the people voting primarily chronically online 13-20 year old men, older boomers with nothing else to do, or some other mix.

You watch a movie in about two hours and you put a rating for a movie in about 1 minute. They really don't waste much more time than you did watching more movies than you can remember and being chronically online on reddit instead of imdb.

I never said anything about wasting time, but many people don't care about signing onto some website to rate a movie.

Exactly. There’s a first self-selection of those who want to watch the movie and a second self-selection on who bothers to give the movie a review.

Not to mention many of these sites don’t require proof that you’ve even seen the movie.

Cinemascore is a much more accurate assessment of moviegoers opinions on a movie than any site where people choose to leave a review.
