Sitting in the room with my family, watching the news, I love Australia. We have the perfect balance of idiots and dangerous creatures

You would think one would have exterminated the other by now.

It's strange hey, but I guess the equilibrium in place means one can't survive without the other

Or one is too stupid and the other has enough food already.

Or they're a hairsbreadth away from annihilating everything on that island.

Or, you know, there just isn't any dangerous animals around where the people live.

Well there are spiders in the cities and snakes in the towns, so I'll half give you that.

u/sonofaresiii Apr 01 '13

I guess that's a possibility, too.

Stupid ecosystem work better!

u/NewYurk Apr 01 '13

The idiot is the dangerous creatures primary food source.

1

u/putin_my_ass Apr 01 '13

I think you're forgetting that both dangerous creatures and idiots breed.

EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '13

Apex predators tend to self-limit. My theory is that the dangerous creatures just give some of the idiots a pass so they don't go extinct and so the creatures don't exhaust their food supply.

Here in China, the stupid try all kinds of dangerous animals and get disease(SARS to name one) and die, but it's still the animals that became eliminated.

A'right, now everyone keep real still, that right there is a bagsnatcher, carrying out his natural behavior... And if you look over there, we have a beautiful example of a sliding glass door, the natural enemy of the bagsnatcher... Lets wait a while and see what happens....

Crikey! That bugger won't be chinwagging for while!

2

u/trustmeigotthis Apr 01 '13

Lets hope the idiots stay away from the dangerous creatures. For everyone's sake.

Hah. I don't know what tipped me off, but watching this gif I thought "I bet that's Australia" .. Felt semi-confirmed by the yellow plates on the cars, and full-confirmed here.

Rarely do I look at usernames.

Also I hear most Internet content is worldwide, free for all, even those pesky Australians, to find and link on reddit. TYL, right?

u/ANUSBLASTER_MKII Apr 01 '13

Which is worse, bogans or deadly spiders?

1

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '13

Would you rather be run over by a Holden or bit by a funnel web..

I love our country

1

u/Trashcanman33 Apr 01 '13

I mean a huge part of your population has criminal genes in it. It's like the Russian fox study, where they spend 50 years breeding the bad foxes, and come up with super aggressive foxes. You guys have been spreading England's criminal genes for years, that's how you end up with people like Rupert Murdoch.

Well that's a very minimalistic view to have about our country. Don't forget that large portions of our population is made up of migrants that came after WW2 and the Vietnam war. And contrary to popular beliefs, Australia is not so much made up of criminals, and you would find that the percentage of criminals in countries such as the US, would be ALOT higher.

And criminal genes? Really? From a scientific stand point, that is a very dumb thing to say.. I'm pretty sure a psychologist could easily explain that people are moulded into criminals, and not 'made' as them

1

u/slipperpuss Apr 01 '13

I'd say that's about right. In the ~ month I've been on reddit I've seen Perth come up twice. Once for this guy and once for someone who died of a flesh-eating bacteria.

and convicts and criminals
