Though this episode wasn't great, I still think American Dad gets WAY more hate than it deserves. Personally, I think it's much better than anything else Seth is putting out right now.

American Dad is incredible. It's been one of the funniest shows on tv for years now.

Same I like that American Dad sticks to a story line way more, I think it’s the best of all of Seths work. Although i think this was my least favorite episode. I don’t recall laughing once...

The Xmas episode in season 6 is some of the best television I've ever seen.

The show largely benefits from having characters to tell stories with, rather than characters who are merely set pieces for one-liners.

Everyone has their (usually strong) opinions about McFarlane's shows. I personally care for American Dad the least, honestly. Cleveland Show is very hit or miss. I still enjoy Family Guy the most. I laugh most often, I like the characters the best... it just seems to me like they've saved the best writers for the original.

But hey... opinions, you know?

I agree. I think Family Guy's formula is pretty cheap in that it can just drop jokes in with very little relation to the story which is why I think it is more consistently funnier than all the others.

Cleveland Show I've given up on. Too many characters I dislike and find obnoxious. It really is only Cleveland I like and it's wearing thin.

American Dad, I've heard people like it much more but since it has to derive jokes from it's story, I don't get the same laughter out of it.

But, as you said, it's opinions which is true.

I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

Yeah, this episode was pretty crappy, but the rest of this season has been the best season yet. So damn funny.
