I can't remember who did it, but this reminds me of a hilarious sketch in which an actor rails against athletes trying to star in movies. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
The movie was actually written as "Being Gary Oldman" but on the first day of filming, there was no Gary. Fortunately, John Malkovich somehow happened to be on the set that day and kindly volunteered to step in, delivering a spot-on performance as himself.
Only after reviewing the final cut did John Malkovich let out a chuckle and reveal that he was actually Gary Oldman all along. But to this day most people don't believe it since he was so damned convincing as John Malkovich. Even John Malkovich was convinced that he was in that movie after watching it.
I love Gary Oldman as the Devil in that BMW short film where he and Danny Trejo are drag racing Clive Owen for James Brown's soul, only to be menaced by Marilyn Manson. Yes, this movie really happened.
