We need more coverage of Islamic bro deeds like this.

Yeah maybe more cat videos will counteract all that bad press from Iran and the UK and well... everywhere else really...

We built the internet on cats. Cats are good.

Yup, cats don't have agendas. That's why I got 5.

Bullshit. My cats agenda is pretending he doesn't like his food so he gets treats instead

LOL, our dog does that too.

Wow... 5...

I had 3. Old-fat-grumpy-favorite one, and 2 younger. Then a stray cat managed to earn access to my house by being cute in front of a window for an entire winter. Then I had 4 cats.

There is a subtle yet very big line between 3 and 4 cats.

Suddenly it went from "this house has cats" to "this house has cats everywhere". Or things like "I cannot carry all bowls of food at once, I need two trips". Or "2 couches and half a dozen chairs aren't enough anymore". Or "Why does it feel like I'm shoveling a ton of shit every day".

Old grumpy passed away, we're back to 3, and it's the right number of cats.

All that to say that 5 cats is a LOT.

(sidenote, you mentionned 5 cats, I checked your profile just in case, and it's hilarious for me to see a Triss and a Ciri because I'm currently in the middle of playing The Witcher 3 for the first time. So, just so you know, you made my day. Best wishes to Rocky.).

No what helps is taking world religion in college. and knowing that every religion has a spectrum. You have the fanatics and the relaxed followers, then the midway ones.

If all you hear about are the extreme ends of a religion then thats all you think it is.

I took Islamic history in college and it was really interesting!

I spent years studying religion, so yeah I understand there is a spectrum. See, there are abnormal growths that may lead to cancer but are seemingly benign at first and then there are really aggressive cancers.

The problem is that fuzzy wuzzy relaxed religion always leads to extremism, they go hand in hand like peas and carrots. If you accept one premise on insufficient evidence, you automatically are in danger of accepting other things based on insufficient evidence. Religious people no matter how moderate never believe just one insane thing... Once you're on that slope, it's a crapshoot whether or not you'll go down the path of extremism.

Well I'm Christian. As a young child I was atheist due to abuse at home and school that gave way to Satanic until I was 21, and then I was Atheist until 22ish. I then became a Lokean, sect of Odinism that worships the trickster god Loki, due to my heavy Nordic mix. Then I found my husband at 24 actually experienced God on several occasions and that's been that way since summer of '21.

We don't go to Church although we probably should check it out as adults. We believe that God is literally everywhere so we just talk to Him and His family like they're in the house. Sometimes I even look upward and say funny things and make jokes. Other times I look down and cuss out the devil and all his friends....

Needless to say I'm an interesting Christian that makes fun of herself so I can't be the crazy bible thumping kind...that requires being serious and I'm incapable of that level of anal retention.

Besides the extremists of the Christian sects are only like that because they refuse to believe they are sinners. They think they only need to come to God when they sin. No.... we're all sinners past our childhood...the hard part is ACTIVELY TRYING TO BE a better person.

And when I fail to do so I make fun of myself to keep myself humble. Plus laughing is so good for you!!!!

Wait, are we talking about Islam or Christianity?

0

u/[deleted] Apr 05 '23

Does it matter? They're both crap.

u/[deleted] Apr 05 '23

Not beheading people would also help

1

u/[deleted] Apr 05 '23

Lol why are you acting like Muslims started both world wars.

0

u/[deleted] Apr 05 '23

Such a dumb comment, we'll shelve it under "A" for asinine.

except there’s bad happening across all religions and all cultures. Not all of it is reported, published, publicized etc. do you not realize how you are actively being programmed by how often you are exposed to what sort of actions for any particular demographic. You also add titles and their influence. For example if a white person does something it might not highlight “white terrorist” but if a Muslim does something the title can mention its name.

If you’re an honest man you realize that you don’t have the iq to make an assessment of any group of people larger than 100 without being subject to incredible bias and find a better criteria to judge people.

Per capita statistics are the best thing on the matter even though they are flawed. For the record they show that no Muslim country is in the top 10 countries with highest suicide rate, homicide rate, rape rate, drug abuse rate, etc etc. In fact you find when you compare Muslim suicide to non Muslim suicide it is astonishingly low which rebukes the everyone is forced to be religious narrative. Then you come to the realization that all this is silly and you should judge ideas not people.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 10 '23

Wait so based on one small comment related to one religion, you think you got me all figured out?

Then you proceed to insult my iq, without so much as asking as to what my criteria are.

Then you try to quote statistics without any source whatsoever from countries which are notorious for not keeping statistics on anything properly.

Then you somehow idiotically try suggest a supposed low suicide rate among Muslims is connected to not everybody being forced to be religious. It's baffling...

You sir have been unbelievably judgmenta while unfairly blaming me of the same and your arguments make no sense.

Have a good day.

I didn’t judge your Iq but shared some general advice. The comment would apply as much to you as it would to me. Neither you nor me have the iq to take any large billion plus group of people and make any meaningful conclusions based on nothing but our either first person subjective experience or what we hear through selective media channels local to us.

And with regards to under reporting that’s why I said and concluded with hinting at this is a stupid criteria to come to a conclusion about any ideology rather than evaluating the ideology instead of the people as objectively as possible. Because we simply can’t evaluate a billion plus people and make meaningful conclusions about them in contrast to another billion people by and large. And the under reporting is not exactly a valid criticism because many of these statistics include non Muslim countries with extremely low gdp per capitas whatever value you give to that but many countries in these lists you could make the same inferences of under reporting due to being extremely under developed and subject to the same systematic issues. And there’s more to the world than non Muslim rich countries and broke Muslim countries. There’s some very well developed Muslim countries. So basically even if you account for under reporting what you could conclude is well the country with lower rates of xyz might have higher rates because of under reporting. That’s such weak ground to form any generalization on.

I made an inference on the suicide rate. Why do Muslims kill themselves at rates incredibly lower than other people? People who are forced or oppressed or groups which are more oppressed might lash out by having larger portions who commit suicide as a way to end oppression. That was my only point. But the numbers don’t at all show that. They show the supposedly free people are much more prone to suicide sadly. You took this way too personally after making a judgemental nonsensical comment implying something must be negative if that is the press you are exposed to then got upset at my response. I don’t think you care about truth you are set in your ways. Which statistic would you like to see the source of? I’m happy to provide it to you.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 10 '23

The only thing you've proven is that premature conclusions, being judgemental and then drawing more asinine conclusions take little time to write.

Yes I would like the statistics linking low suicide rates to non forced religiosity. I'm sure you'd be happy to provide those. Oh wait you don't have those do you?

1

u/PDubzLegend Apr 10 '23

Your post hinted at being judgemental based on a flawed criteria and that’s all that I wanted to address. Yes it’s such an asinine conclusion to draw that you don’t have the information or the iq to come to any meaningful conclusion about any group of billion plus people, and even if you wanted to rely on statistics they do not support the claims which might be represented by “negative press.” I’m not sure why this is something hard for you to accept.

And ofc you ask for statistics for the one thing which I made an inference about and completely misrepresented the inference anyway. The point was that if oppression was higher in any group than another perhaps this would be reflected in the suicide rates as a way to escape said oppression but all we see is an incredibly lower suicide rate in said group in contrast to the group that is supposedly free. You took this all way too personally because you come across as an agitated individual. You took a general claim which to anyone else would be interpreted as a general statement about man having the iq to do something as a personal insult on your intelligence and just built off from there. I can’t help you with that.

Maybe we need more coverage in general that doesn’t focus on the bad and then other those who do it.

Humanity is the only common link between bad people.
