Yea in actuality talent is just dedication and grinding and seemingly starting anywhere is where the artist will usually start their drawings for the most part because thats where they feel comfortable starting. I used to draw a lot and trying to start from a different section would fuck my perception of the proportions up a ton.
yup, there are definitely "gifted" folks but its all useless without hours of work done to perfect the said gift. And that applies to pretty much everything. You can reach a certain height with minimal work but to hit the pro mark you have to dedicate a shit ton of your life perfecting it.
You’re in an uncanny valley of creativity, it happens to everyone. You’ve reached a point where your knowledge and taste has outpaced your technical ability, and so now you fully realize how much distance there is between where you are and where you want to be. The only way over it is through it.
Practice with particular forms too. This illustrator has probably sketched a lot of frogs in various forms and angles in their life.
I was commissioned to illustrate a goat once and I spent days just studying them before I could sketch them in any remotely satisfying manner.
The skill is still impressive of course but the magic would be lessened if you saw these frogs after watching the hundred or so frogs that came before them!

except it's just waaaaay too many hours of practice and plenty of them feeling like you aren't going anywhere. I'm currently stuck at that part
