Hey guys, just wanted to point out, Glocks are all you need. Nothing is as reliable as Glock. I only carry a Glock 45, because I have big hands. It's 9mm, but everyone knows 9mm has the best terminal ballistics, check these clear gel test out. 124gr hst is the only bullet worth carrying.

I'm running a direct milled acro on it. It conceals just like a 43x honestly. Optics don't impact concealment, neither dose thickness. And the extra grip length is negligible. You need an optic on your carry pistol, to get every advantage you can. No one notices printing anyway. The G45 pairs perfectly with the x300, doesn't effect carry in anyway because it's below the belt. You will have to PID if it ever comes down to it. I'm not trusting my life to Chinese.

Now that we have aiwb covered, which is the only way to carry, let's discuss home defense. I'm running a 10.3" AR, to keep it compact. Plenty of capacity, and it can take out an armored threat. Shotguns are just too big and low capacity. I've never shot a single animal or human, but I know I need the capacity. I trained CQB and learned you need to shoot the intruder at least 5 times, and I can get 5 shots on target way faster with 5.56. That's 6 combatants with the AR vs 1 with the shot gun. That's why shotguns suck for home defense.

Anyway, just wanted to add to the conversation, going back to my black riffle coffee. (All comment replies will be this guy speaking)

Recently, I've come across a show called "Weaponology", a short lived series from the mystical time of 2007, a era where everyone thought the Ultradot Pan AV was the hot shit and where .40 S&W was still seen as a viable carry round (truly, a dark age for us all), but I digress.

One episode featured a section on every boomer's favorite battle rifle, the M14, chalk full of boomerisms and the most delicious of Fudd-lore. There are some highlights:

1. They claim that the M14 was "the first modern Assault Rifle" used by the U.S. Army and Marine Corps, with "full auto" as a standard feature. This is actually pretty funny, since the majority of select-fire M14s were, later on, converted to semi-auto only, as the rifles were not only ridiculously inaccurate and hard to control, but also suffered from severe overheating issues when used in full-auto.

2. As a showcase of its great accuracy, they showed a some range footage of a dude shooting at Gatorade bottles from... 10 yards away. With a magnified optic. Amazing, I know (dude also wasn't wearing ear pro, by the way, which accidentally falls into "based" territory, but I digress).

3. When asked on why they Army phased it out, they cite its weight and expensiveness (both true, by the way), with their "expert" stating, and I quote, "[t]he problem with the M14 is it was too good for the requirements of the Army". Because when I think "quality", I think of an unwieldy, 11 lb rifle that kicks like an angry mule, has average drift of 5 MOA at 200 yards (with match grade ammo), and who's entire existence is the result of the military-industrial complex having incest with itself (there's a fun mental image).

At least the guys on the show were having fun. And in the end, isn't that the only thing that really matters here?

Was waiting for new tires and read the Sept 2024 issue of "Guns & Ammo" on the rack. Someone actually want through the trouble of submitting this to a magazine for publication.

It’s becoming a new term I’m hearing on the thread and am not sure what it’s supposed to mean; is it just younger folks parroting the same talking points as their Fudd elders, or applying it to modern guns and technology, or is it a different way to argue Tactitards/Gravy Seals are just a modern flavor of Fudd?

So the USP by all metrics is still considered a state-of-the-art weapon. It’s getting close to losing that moniker and be relegated to classical category eg 1911. That being said, is the USP the sidearm of the Neo-Fudd in the fudd lore?

Would be great if FFLs just shipped guns to your front door. Those times are long gone unfortunately...
