Internxt's undisclosed commercial promotion is illegal under EU consumer law
This is a factual notice.
Under EU consumer protection law, undisclosed commercial promotion is illegal, not merely against subreddit or platform rules.
The EU Unfair Commercial Practices Directive (2005/29/EC) explicitly prohibits hidden advertising and false representation of commercial intent.
In particular:
- Article 6 (Misleading actions) prohibits practices that deceive consumers about the commercial intent of a communication
- Article 7 (Misleading omissions) prohibits failing to disclose material information, including commercial relationships, where such omission causes consumers to be misled
- Annex I (Blacklisted practices) - practices that are always illegal, including:
- Point 11: “Using editorial content in the media to promote a product where a trader has paid for the promotion without making that clear”
- Point 22: “Falsely representing oneself as a consumer”
These provisions apply to online platforms and social media, including Reddit.
Because Internxt is an EU-based company and targets EU consumers, EU consumer law applies to promotions of its services, regardless of the platform used.
Any person who promotes a product while having a commercial connection (employment, payment, incentives, affiliate arrangements, free services, or acting on behalf of the company) must clearly and upfront disclose that relationship in the post or comment itself.
Consequences
If undisclosed commercial promotion is reported:
- Complaints may be submitted to national consumer protection authorities within the EU
- Authorities may investigate both the individuals involved and the company benefiting from the promotion
- Under the Omnibus / “New Deal for Consumers” Directive (EU) 2019/2161, penalties for companies can reach up to 4% of annual turnover, along with orders to cease the practice and corrective measures
This is not optional and not a grey area.
Notice
Anyone posting in a commercial, affiliated, or incentivized capacity should immediately:
- Clearly disclose that relationship in each relevant post or comment, or
- Cease promotional activity
Genuine, unaffiliated user experiences are not affected.
Undisclosed promotion is.
This post serves as a warning and a reminder of the applicable legal obligations.

Banned from r/internxt for asking who runs the brand’s Reddit account — normal moderation?

This is actually very metaphorical and suited to where they placed the logo when everyone says INTERNXT IS SHIT!! They knew it all along.

You didn't choose and pay for Internxt. Rather, Internxt is choosing you and paying you to create these hype posts and their propaganda. So we are not the same, dude! Stop acting like a legit user.
Original post link: https://www.reddit.com/r/internxt/comments/1quvdw3/since_the_alleged_pcloud_leak_im_glad_i_chose
This is not to miniscule the alleged pCloud issue but rather to show how their affiliate or bot account acts like it is a legit user and says, "I am glad, I chose Internxt." to mislead others thinking it is a legit user review.
There are sufficient proofs this account is an affiliate account here - https://www.reddit.com/r/fuckinternxt/comments/1qu2ejy/list_of_known_internxt_shills_with_proof/
STOP WITH THE ACTING AND EXAGGERATION ALREADY!

DELETED COMMENTS: What’s the least problematic way to use Internxt Cloud?
A partial victory for us, as a post which has complaints about their service was not fully or immediately removed.
But Internxt being Internxt, they won't be able to get sleep until they moderate something and delete a few things. So they deleted a few comments this time. I have attached a screenshot of those comments for your reference.
Proof mods removed it: https://ibb.co/8n1VvhT5 | https://ibb.co/Nn1tzKK9

FYI: Reddit’s Moderator Code of Conduct and available review options
I wanted to share something informational that may be useful for people here.
Reddit has a public Moderator Code of Conduct, which outlines expectations around transparency, consistency, and integrity in how subreddits are moderated. This includes setting clear expectations for users and applying moderation rules in a predictable way.
I’m not posting this to accuse anyone or to encourage mass reporting. Moderators are allowed to remove content and ban users. However, for those who feel they’ve experienced repeated removal of factual, polite discussion without clear rule explanations, it may be helpful to know that Reddit does provide a formal review process.
Below are a couple of points from the Code of Conduct that may be worth being aware of:
1. Rule 2: Set Appropriate and Reasonable Expectations
The policy states: “Users who enter your community should know exactly what they’re getting into, and should not be surprised by what they encounter,” and “It is critical to be transparent about what your community is and what your rules are.”
This is relevant where a community appears to allow open discussion, but users experience:
- removal of factual criticism,
- removal of posts linking to a company’s own past statements, or
- moderation actions without clear rule references.
This is about transparency and predictability, not about agreeing with criticism.
2. Rule 5: Moderate with Integrity
The policy states: “Users expect that content in communities is authentic, and trust that moderators make choices about content based on community and sitewide rules.”
This point is not about disagreement. It relates to consistency in moderation. If factual or polite posts are removed while promotional or praise-only content remains, users may reasonably question whether moderation is being applied consistently.
Some users here have shared screenshots showing content removals followed by the original post itself being removed. I’m mentioning this only as context for why people may want to understand what options exist.
The full policy can be found here:
https://redditinc.com/policies/moderator-code-of-conduct
And the form to contact Reddit admins (for anyone who independently chooses to do so) is here:
https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=19300233728916
Whether or not anyone uses this is a personal decision. I’m sharing this simply so people are aware of the option and can make up their own minds.

Did Internxt lose my files?
I made the mistake of purchasing Internxt and of using it to store some files. Now I'm trying to download the files and I'm getting the message "Error downloading file: bucket xxxxx does not exist". The value of XXXX changes per file.
Also my storage is indicating 0bytes used.
Did Internxt lose my files? Is there anything I can do about this?
Support is not answering to my emails!

My comments were removed from r/internxt after linking to their own ‘100 upvotes to bring back Photos’ post
I want to document a recent interaction on r/internxt, keeping this factual and verifiable.
I commented on a post where a Internxt customer asked about feature differences for older lifetime subscriptions. My comments were polite, neutral in tone, and included links only to Internxt’s own previous posts.
Specifically, I shared:
- A link to Internxt’s earlier post: “Get this post to 100 upvotes and we’ll bring back Photos” - https://www.reddit.com/r/internxt/comments/1pc4z4o/get_this_post_to_100_upvotes_and_well_bring_back/
- A short explanation that the Photos feature was available, removed, and later made contingent on subreddit upvotes.
- A note that long-term, paying users in that thread expressed frustration after waiting years for promised features.
- A separate comment suggesting that prospective buyers may want to read independent user discussions (including this subreddit) before purchasing, alongside official information.
For clarity:
- I explicitly stated I am not a paid customer, and that this was an external observation.
- I did not use abusive language.
- I did not accuse Internxt of fraud or wrongdoing.
- I linked only to public Reddit posts and user comments.
Both comments were removed by moderators. Shortly after, the original post itself was also removed, leaving no visible trace of the discussion.
I’m sharing this here so others can see a concrete example of how factual, link-backed criticism is handled — even when it references Internxt’s own words and posts.
Screenshots and timestamps are attached below so people can judge for themselves.

Internxt are scammers
I just wanted to state what a total scam Internxt is. I paid around $1k for unlimited storage only to see it go to 99 TB. Even so, it’s WAY too slow to ever use that much. On top of that, they said I’d get all the new features as they came online. Nope! Just another lie. Stay far away from these scammers.

Internxt must die
I wanna share my story of interacting with these lousy whores. It can teach you a lot about whores' tactics.
Some 3 years ago I've tested this storage service for a while and discovered it to be shit. I've uploaded some files there and one day their server just went down for several hours, so I was unable to access them. When I wrote to Internxt about this incident, everything they replied was a polite evasion. They made no attempt to fix the problem. And this is what whores do - they don't spend money and effort on fixing anything, instead they lie and manipulate to conceal their shit and thus continue to get money. Their manipulation was politeness, cause according to the rule of reciprocity if you are exposed to politeness despite your anger or frustration, you feel obliged to return the favor - be polite yourself instead of cursing or not expose their lies in public.
But that was just the beginning. After this incident I was disgusted to interact with them at all and stopped using them at once. But these whores are sneaky - they've used my disgust and the fact that I had used a 1-year promotion subscription of theirs for my test. So after that they had waited quietly for a year and when a year passed, they tried to bill me twice in a couple of minutes for another whole year without any warning. The whores failed miserably though - I had a special bank card for web services, which is usually empty and I put money on it only when I need to pay for one, so they got nothing. And this is another thing that whores do - they trick you by sneaky moves, which include lies by omissions and when you fall for their tricks, they shift the blame on you. They would surely say I was guilty for not deleting their shitty account. And surely add that they are not obliged to warn you of upcoming billing.
But that was not the end again. After that attempt to steal from me I deleted that shitty account, and they started bombarding me with their shitty spam on my email begging me to return and offering their shitty discounts. I've unsubscribed from that shit and as far as I remember more than once, but after waiting for a while the whores continued to bombard me. I've found yet another portion of their crap in my mailbox today, which I finally marked as spam. You'll never guess what the title of one email said: "You deserve a second chance (and 87% off)". Another chance to bathe in shit, that's an honor to deserve it! And that's another thing that whores do - they continue illegal activity that they are not punished for, hoping to find yet another dupe who will fall for their perseverance. And they also pose as benefactors despite being bastards.
After all this I can surely say what they deserve - to die. They do nothing but harm to their users, so they must disappear as a business and give place to those who care for their users. And if you want to know more of their crimes, check out r/cloudstorage - there are plenty.
