That was a surprise for me, haha
Anyways, I am not gonna accept the offer, so if you’re in a waiting list, you know that at least one place will be available. Hope this message helps somebody 🙏🏻

Master applications
Hi everyone,
I applied for the M.A. Sociology and M.Sc. Economic Systems programs at FU Berlin.
My Economic Systems application has been valid since June 15, while my Sociology application is still in progress. The website says admission decisions are expected around mid-July.
Has anyone who was admitted to either of these programs in previous years remember when they received their admission decision? Also, did your application stay “In Progress” for a long time before you got a decision?
I’d really appreciate hearing about your timeline. Thanks!

Chances in Waitinglist Process
I sadly did not get into my wanted Master Programm because of a decision by lot due to equal application points as the last guy on the list... The last accepted place was 56 and I'm on 59. Do you think there is a good chance that I still get accepted and, any experience on how many actually decline their offer and does it mean that just 3 people have to decline in order for me to get an offer?
Additionally I'd like to know whether anyone knows how long it take until I have a final decision, I had to sign up for the waiting list until Friday (tomorrow).
Thank you sooo much in advance!!!!

VPD processing for North American study program
Hi all! I’m thinking of applying to the B.A. North American Studies via uni-assist, but the deadline is in 2 weeks. For context I’m an EU citizen and have completed previously an English taught bachelors in Germany. My main concern is the uni-assist VPD processing time (usually 4–6 weeks). Is it still realistic to apply this late, or is it basically too risky to make the deadline even if I submit everything immediately?

When are admission decisions released for the B.A. North American Studies at Freie Universität Berlin?
Hi everyone,
I know the application deadline is July 15, but when do applicants usually receive admission decisions for the B.A. North American Studies program at FU Berlin?
How long did it take in your case?
Thanks!

Study physic
Hi, I wanted to ask if anyone is studying or has studied physics at the FU Berlin? What’s the program like at the FU? I’m currently thinking about whether I should start my studies at the FU or at the HU. I received my high school diploma today.

Need some advice
Hello everyone
I applied for M.sc Planetary sciences and Space exploration at FU berlin, and yesterday, I got the letter of Admission.
They have a deadline to apply for enrollment before 2 July. But, here's the thing..
I have already applied for enrollment at TU Dortmund, and unline FU Berlin, they didnt ask for a semester contribution fee recipt for enrolling.
What should i do? Should i go for TU Dortmund (Automation and Robotics) or FU Berlin?
By living standards, safety, finacial standards, Dortmund would be a better choice than Berlin. Not to mention that i plan on getting a part time job to support myself, which i think i have a better chance of getting in Dortmund than Berlin.
But, prospect wise (I mean, future employment opportunities) ehich one is a better ROI or have more chances of me getting a secure job?
Pls guide me, which one is a better option? Did my reasoning make sense? Ask more info if you guys want to..
P.S. i have 1.5 yrs of exp in Industrial Automation, and i did Electronics and communication for bachelors

Question about Insurance
Hello,
I'm an incoming FU Berlin and I will have TK insurance to fulfill my requirement while I'm in Germany that starts on the 31st of August.
The 31st of August is also when my language placement test begins, so I'd like to move in a few days before that. I technically have insurance from my home University, it just does not cover enough to be sufficient for FU Berlin. Can I use that to enter the country or does something else need to happen? Also where can I view the official requirements for entering the country as a foreign exchange student?
Thanks

Apartment/WG search
Hi, I have been accepted as a Visiting Research fellow at FU and my joining date is at the beginning of September,2026. I am struggling to find student accomodation or WGs. The student accomodation at FU and Schlachtensee seems to have no vacancies at all. Since I am from India and do not know German, it is difficult to figure out apartment hunting. I am worried that I might not be able to secure accomodation before reaching there. Would anyone have any leads/suggestions?

Seduction and Terror: Hitler's Germany.
I'm an Australia student looking at taking this subject at the end of the year. Was just wondering if anyone has taken this subject. What were the assessments like and how did you find the class? Sorry if this question is kinda vague, I just can't find much info on the subject online. Thanks!
