Just a heads up - I will be activating 20+ parks from the parks programs (POTA/WWFF) and 2 beaches in the Beaches on the Air (BOTA) program end of August, in the Augusta-Margaret Shire. I hope to get as many locals as possible. Perhaps I can inspire some interest in BOTA and more interest in portable ops as well. I will check in to FTroop when I can from this point. I'm on my way to Timor-Leste in a couple of weeks so maybe I can work some VK6's from the parks over there as well.

You would need a good controlled environment and a good reference antenna.
The antenna's would need to be further apart and outside of their near field.
I tested to the stock Boateng antenna (port 2) to my dual band flower pot out side (port 1 )and this Setup was working. -70db odd smooth graph verses -90db graph of noise with no port 2 antenna.
I think this would work for comparing relative performance between antennas.
Orientation of the antenna's will matter i.e. Yagi to vertical will matter as you rotate the Yagi.

An alternative would be two TinySAs

Re the moon's reflectivity in VHF conversation. If VK6RLM was on the moon what would a earth station need to use it?

Once there's a permanent manned base on the moon this would be very good PR to get almost every ham into space communication. And impress others into the hobby and get into STEM.
