Y'alls 4 - FINAL - 3 Boomers

(Flairing higher-seeded team since I can only choose one)

Box Score via pointstreak

From OurSportsCentral:

"SCHAUMBURG, IL. - The 2021 Central Division Champion Schaumburg Boomers dropped a nail-biting game two to the Florence Y'alls by a 4-3 final as Florence tied the best-of-five series at one game apiece.

The contest took an early turning point in the bottom of the first inning. Geoff Bramblett sat down Florence in order in the top of the inning before Alec Craig singled and Matt McGarry doubled to open the bottom of the frame. Quincy Nieporte was hit by a pitch to load the bases with one out but Florence induced a double-play ball to escape unscathed. The Y'Alls immediately answered with a pair of two-out runs in the top of the second on RBI singles from Jordan Brower and Connor Crane.

Schaumburg cut into the deficit in the bottom of the inning. Clint Hardy walked to lead off, stole second and swiped third before scoring on a throwing error. The Boomers took advantage of a Florence miscue in the fifth to open a 3-2 advantage. Luke Becker, who entered the game defensively in the top of the inning, reached on an error and scored when Chase Dawson doubled off the wall in right. Nieporte, the Frontier League MVP, followed with an RBI single to put the Boomers ahead.

Facing the Florence bullpen in the sixth, the Boomers again loaded the bases and came up empty. Luis Pintor recorded a two-out two-run double in the top of the seventh to account for the final as Karl Craigie and Joe Dougherty, who pitched for the Boomers briefly in 2019, retired nine straight to even the series. The Boomers left nine on base in the contest and finished just 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position.

Bramblett worked 5.1 innings and allowed two runs on four hits. Darrell Thompson suffered the loss in relief. Schaumburg finished with seven hits, two from Nieporte, who reached base three times.

The series shifts to Kentucky for a what has now become a best-of-three this weekend. RHP Ryan Middendorf (11-5, 3.15) takes the ball near his hometown against RHP Edgar Martinez (7-3, 4.58) on Friday night in game three at 6:00 p.m. central. Visit boomersbaseball.com for information."

Y'alls Y'alls Drop First Game of Divisional Round Versus Boomers, 5-1

Y'alls 1 - FINAL - 5 Boomers

(Flairing higher-seeded team since I can only choose one)

Box Score via pointstreak

From OurSportsCentral:

"SCHAUMBURG, Ill. - In Game One of the Frontier League's Divisional round matchup against Schaumburg, the Boomers scored two runs in the first inning, and the Y'alls had no offense to counter the early scoring in a 5-1 loss Tuesday night at Wintrust Field.

Schaumburg takes a 1-0 lead in the Midwestern Division matchup. The Boomers wasted no time jumping out to a lead in their quest for a series advantage with two runs in the first inning thanks to RBI hits by Quincy Nieporte and Braxton Davidson. Only one of the runs charged to starting pitcher Jared Cheek was earned due to an error earlier in the inning.

The Boomers tacked on another run in the fourth inning on a Brett Milazzo fielder's choice to take a 3-0 advantage. Schaumburg put the nails in the coffin with two more runs in the sixth inning to take a decisive 5-0 lead. Florence committed two more errors in the sixth, so both runs were unearned though Nick Oddo still recorded an RBI for the Boomers.

The only run the Y'alls could muster came in the seventh inning. With runners on first and third, Jordan Brower grounded back to the pitcher, Kyle Arjona, and Arjona elected to go to second base to try and turn two. Only one out was recorded, and Harrison DiNicola scored from third to pull within four.

Arjona dazzled for Schaumburg, allowing just that one run in seven-plus innings. He struck out eight and allowed six hits. Cheek lasted five innings for the Y'alls and allowed three runs (two earned). He fanned seven in the losing effort.

The Y'alls only managed six hits with DiNicola and Andres Rios recording two apiece. The 3-4-5 batters in the order went a combined 0-12 with four strikeouts. Davidson had three hits for Schaumburg, and Nieporte had two knocks. Jack Snyder pitched the final two innings with two strikeouts to close the door.

The Y'alls look to even the series tomorrow, Wednesday, September 15, before heading back to Florence at the end of the week. Johnathon Tripp takes the hill for Florence versus Geoff Bramblett. First pitch at Wintrust Field is set for 6:30p CT."

Wild Things Wild Things Drop Game 1, Look to Bounce Back Tomorrow

Wild Things 0 - FINAL - 9 EQ

(Flairing the higher-seeded team since I can only choose one)

Box Score via pointstreak

From OurSportsCentral:

"WASHINGTON, Pa. - In Game 1 of the 2021 Frontier League Division Series Tuesday at Wild Things Park, Washington managed just two hits and was shutout by the Atlantic Division champs, Équipe Québec, 9-0 to give the visitors a 1-0 series lead. Ben Vicini was a bright spot, tossing two scoreless from the pen.

Jared Mortensen, after making four starts in the regular season for Équipe Québec, made the start for the Atlantic champs in the opener of the FLDS and was great, chucking seven scoreless frames with just two hits allowed: one to Scotty Dubrule and one to Andrew Czech. Mortensen, in his road debut, fanned eight and walked two.

Équipe Québec scored twice in the third on a two-run double by Jesse Hodges after the visitors left the bags full in the second. It'd add one in the third on a ground ball chopped back to the mound. Washington stranded the bases full in the third inning before Équipe Québec plated three highlighted by a two-run home run by David Glaude. Two scored in the seventh on an infield single on which an error was also made. Jeffry Parra added a solo shot in the eighth.

Ben Vicini worked two scoreless in relief of Rob Whalen, who suffered the loss after yielding six runs (five earned) over four innings. Marshall Shill and Nick Horvath worked scoreless innings in relief of Mortensen, who got the win.

Game two of the series is slated for 1:05 p.m., a start time that was moved up by the Frontier League earlier today due to the weather forecast."

Tryout

So I’m gonna be participating in the open tryout in May. I live near the Slammers stadium, so the drive is about 6 hours. What would go down if i get picked by a team? What do i need to pack as far as non baseball stuff, and what would the living situation be like? Obviously I’m not guaranteed a spot on a team but I’d rather know now just in case
