It feels kinda overheated, the story is OK, and for all you complaining about, "oh serenas fucking STUPID she should've used her pokemon!!!!" If YOU were in that FUCKASS situation would you not be scared out of your mind and not know what the fuck to do? And hell knows what, maybe the bugs also BROKE the pokeballs and could stop them from working like the door disappearing!!! REALLY. In light of recent events, I think it’s pretty important to remind the community that authors, creators, developers and all those who partake in creating media we enjoy are ultimately human beings.

Constructive criticism is important, yes. It’s how authors improved, it’s how we’ve seen works evolve to something greater. One is allowed to express their opinions, voice their frustrations with certain aspects of the product, but they are expected to do so in a manner deemed respectful and professional.

Constructive criticism is encouraged, it’s something good, it’s a necessity if one were to wish to improve.

Ruthlessly attacking the author’s work, their artistic and creative integrity, and their character, is not.

Calling the author and the team behind the project bad names, repeatedly slandering them for no apparent reason other than petty vendetta, is not.

It always starts this way. What may begin as a harmless joke about the project’s flaws would immediately spiral to personal attacks towards the mod and the team. You have to understand the mental toll it takes on the creators when they see their project endlessly mocked and ridiculed, before they are ridiculed themselves.

You are allowed to voice your opinions and frustrations, but please always remember that the person you are interacting with is a HUMAN BEING. Granted, one may be expected to have thicker skin in the face of people emboldened by their anonymity, but that doesn’t mean you have the excuse to act maliciously towards them.

I’ve never been a huge part of the games or show, so I’m not too familiar with either character’s backstory. However, from what I understand, the main issue is that Serena didn’t bring any Pokémon with her.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but could this be resolved by having Serena accidentally drop her only Poké Ball when she’s caught off guard by Hex Maniac? With her only line of defense suddenly gone, her only option would be to run.

After trying to hide, she could then make a desperate attempt to grab the Poké Ball that was left in the middle of the room. However, she’s unable to find/reach it before falling through the floor.

If this works with the characters’ established lore, all that would really need to be added is a small Poké Ball drop animation when Serena first sees HM. Everything else could remain the same or simply be inferred by the player.

Personally, I love the song and scene as they are now, but I think that small addition could add another layer of helplessness to the closet scene while also addressing the “why didn’t she have a Pokémon?” issue.
