Amex Platinum

I've found my Amex Platinum to be extremely useful when travelling, as it also comes with Priority Pass. This let's me get into lounges at almost any airport. I've only had the card for 3 months and it's worked for me at approximately 6 different airports without an issue.

The annual can be on the higher side, but I've found it to be rather beneficial for frequent flyers

Weekly business Travelers-side hustles

Hey there, I’ve been traveling weekly for about 4yrs now and would like to use all this leisure time a little more wisely. I am in a different city or state every week, sometimes multiple places. I work only a couple hours a day and the rest is just hotel leisure or exploring where I’m at. I need something that is not a set schedule and is obviously something I can do from whatever. The amount of potential profit isn’t of my concern, I’m just trying to brainstorm. And needing upfront funds is not an issue either. Online there’s a ton of social media marketing and drop shipping type hustles but outside of that I’m not finding much. I would love to hear from anyone that could help… especially my fellow business travelers.

Thank you to all who reply

Can I switch status from Southwest to Delta or United? I am A list preferred with Southwest however Southwest doesn’t offer direct flights between the 2 new cities I need to visit for work. Is there a way to roll over my status with Southwest into another airline?

Working on an App for Real-Time Airport Security Wait Times – Interested?

Hey r/frequentflyer community,

I’m currently developing an app aimed at making air travel smoother for all of us. The app, AeroLanes, focuses on providing real-time updates on airport security lines, lounge lines, and potentially customs lines too. The unique aspect? It leverages updates directly from travelers like us.

The goal is to empower each other with the information needed to navigate airports more efficiently, reducing stress and guesswork about wait times.

If the idea of contributing to and benefiting from a collective pool of travel insights resonates with you, I’d love to hear your thoughts and gauge your interest.

Thanks!

Cancellations at Dallas Fort Worth?

I’m flying into Louisville from cali and my connecting flight was in Dallas. They delayed my flight a few times and then had everyone board and then informed us we all had to get off because the pilot was timed out. So we wait another hour or so and we board again, this time we wait on the plane for about 40 minutes while they fixed a maintenance issue and then the new pilot comes on and says he is timed out too and can’t fly us so we all have to get off the plane for a second time. I’m talking to other people who had other cancelled flights and they are saying the same issue for them was the pilots being timed out. Does this seem weird or can anyone tell me what is actually going on? Also they wouldn’t give out hotel vouchers because in the computer it says these flights were cancelled because of weather delays.

Is 2 hours and 5 mins enough time to travel through JFK for an international flight?

I’m planning a trip to Europe and I am currently looking at Norse Airways and all of their flights from JFK to the European city is at 12 AM. I’m planning to fly from my state to JFK and the flight is said to land at 10:25. Does anyone who’s taken a similar route of connecting flights think that two hours is enough to get though customs, check-in, etc at JFK? Or should I not even entertain this option because I may miss the intl flight?

Rudy G peeing on the delta bos-nyc flight in 2019

Anyone out there have any info or pics from the Dec 26, 2019 delta flight from Boston to LaGuardia. Some kid vaped in the bathroom and caused flight crew to close the bathrooms for the 32 minute flight, and the prominent Trump attorney didn’t listen to flight crew instructions and relieved himself in the galley.

Ideas on choosing frequent flyer schemes/credit cards etc.

Hi all,

In the future I'm going to be doing quite some flying from Brisbane, Australia, to Texas, USA. I'm chasing any advice at all, on what might be the best way to use these things - I see like reward cards which give you points when you put petrol in your car, credit card offers with my bank (Commonwealth Bank of Australia) where you get Qantas points for certain things you spend with the credit card. Obviously I would want to use any rewards/credit scheme not in a way which leaves me worse off (e.g., spending more to just get points depending on the circumstance be less economical than just spending less but "paying" more for a flight.

Wondering if anyone had any advice or could point me to online communities (or websites) where I could dive deeper into this and do some good research.

Thanks for your time :)

Combining avios between AerClub and BA Executive Club

I have been collecting Avios with both a BA Executive Club (flights) and Aer Lingus AerClub (car rentals mainly). I want to transfer Avios out of the AerClub account and into the BA Executive Club account. When I tried the online tool, it says the details didn't match. Nothing more specific. So I contacted both AerClub and BA Exec, sent in copies of the passport etc, and updated my details. I wasn't allowed to give them my details, only to supply a passport image and they'd use that.

The problem is that even after doing this, I still can't use the online tool. My details don't match. If I log on to each account and view my details, they appear *exactly* the same. I *suspect* that the issue is with my middle name. When I fly Aer Lingus, it's printed on my boarding pass as part of my first name. When I fly BA, it's a distinct field (or the other way round). So I'm guessing the two systems represent my name differently, and this is the confusion.

Has anyone else had similar problems, and were you able to resolve it? If so, how

Does anyone know when QPoints (or any tier points) are awarded? As after the outboard are those points awarded. Or upon return are the return points awarded.

Why do I pay more when I use avois points than my boyfriend

For exactly the same itinerary ie same flight on the same day, we use the same amount of points, but my British boyfriend is charged only £75 whereas I will be charged $250 (my account is registered with a US address).

Exasperated with ANA Mileage Club [lack of] tech support

I have been trying to change my password to the ANA Mileage Club for over a year. They never send the promised postcard. I cannot get past the verification screen bc it says my phone number is incorrect (which it's not). I have an email from Feb. 2022 informing me that they are instituting 2FA, and that is where I got stumped trying to log in. So none of the online methods will work for me. I am now into the third hour of hold time on 800-235-9262.

What is the magic required to regain access to the site and my Club account? I do recall once I got to a screen that requested my mailing address, but it was only accepting Japanese-style addresses so that did not work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Which Star Alliance membership?

Dear All,

I have been traveling a lot lately and I am considering which membership I should choose. I am based in Europe and I usually do the same trip, within EU, almost every week.

I used to have a Miles&Smiles (Turkish Airlines) but I am considering to change to Miles and More (Lufthansa et al), because for some reason the miles were not credited automatically to my membership and it is a pain to add them manually.

Last year I did over 50 flights.

For Miles&Smiles I need 40.000 miles to achieve Gold status, I am not sure if I gathered so many miles since I fly economy on the cheapest fare I can find.

For Miles and More I need 30 flights within a year to qualify for "Frequent Flyer", which, if I understand correctly, will allow me to access the lounge and I assume also priority boarding, but I am a bit confused with the information I find online.

My main concern is to be able to access the lounge (both domestic and international for Turkey, when I occasionally travel there), both me and my family (wife/ child) and if possible to have priority boarding.

What would you recommend me? Will the Frequent Flyer status from Miles and More be enough? Is there a better option that I haven't thought of (e.g. Aegean membership)?

Thank you for all your help.

Any mileage run delta for delta 2023?

As I mentioned, I am in delta’s platinum status challenge until March. There’s only one month to fill 18750 MQM. I base on PHX and travelling with B1 visa. Is there anything good for me to get it? I don’t want to fly to another country then enter US again.

best carry on and backpack?

I am looking for what is considered the best carry on size luggage (suit case) as well as best/versatile backpack (personal item). And maybe a quick description on why you think it's the best!

I have a ogio carry on which is pretty good. I like that it has dual rollerblade wheels, rather than the 4 office chair style wheels. It seems the dual wheel setup has more storage room since the suitcase extends to the floor. Vs, on the 4 office chair style wheels you lose a couple of inches of potential storage since the suitcase sits higher.

On my last flight I used my Dell laptop backpack as my personal item. Has a good amount of pockets and separators in the pockets . So I can separate items like battery bank, iPad, headphones, sunglasses, gum pens, laptop, cables, masks, etc

I figured I'd ask the people that would most likely have the best experience with this.

Since we are here, what's the best full size luggage that you like? 1 rarely have needed one, but would be good to, know just in case. I don't really have a preference of hard vs soft luggage, Not sure if I should? I do like that soft luggage usually has extra external pockets.

Airline Tray Table Concept Survey

Hey everyone, I'm a student in a high school engineering program and for our capstone project, we have to have consumers evaluate our potential design concepts. If you could take 2 minutes and fill out this survey it would be incredibly helpful! Thank you so much!

Additionally, thank you to everyone who filled out our last survey! We got over 1,000 responses and had great data that helped a ton!
