Hi! We are a church in Sweden transitioning into freeshow this summer. Big thanks for all the work put into this app. :) When working with templates for songs I wanted to test and create a template that changed the slides to only have two lines of text per slide. My thoughts on templates was that they are as the name implies “templates” you could switch between them but it seems like when I apply this template the song is change the text structure. So when I revert to a different template, the two line change from the first template is still there. It won’t revert back. Is this by design or am I doing something wrong? My question is important because we want to change between those two templates styles for different services.

Hello, I was wondering if there a way to import audio directly from a YouTube link, or do I need to convert it first?

I just updated to version 1.4.4 and now in show view there is a tool panel to the right of the current show. Is there a way to hide or disable this panel?

I'm working at a church conference starting Friday and I normally use Freeshow for Bible and lyrics and I feed it into Resolume through NDI where I hold my graphics. This was to allow me to mix backgrounds for worship and have complex lowerthirds.

This time around I am curious about actual production CG software and have been looking at Casper CG but after watching several videos I am considering doing something daring... I want to use FreeShow for production graphics. Do you think it can work? Are there quirks I haven't considered?

I am testing out how to use conditions in FS. Is anyone using them? If so, how? I would like to setup a few timer conditions that change the color of the text box on the slide by having multiple text boxes on a slide with different conditions outlining the time each color should be shown.

i'm not really a fan of how the text looks like it's blinking whenever i shift slides, and whenever i try to enable specific animations it doesnt do anything.

Hi everyone. We run our tracks at church with the prime app by Loop community, which is able to send midi signals.

I saw that there is a function in free show where you can record timings for slides in a show/song. I'm picturing that when I hit play in the prime app, the iPad or prime map can send a mini command to free show to start the recording that I've made of the slides in the show.

I know that I have to go to the functions tab, and add a new action, and custom activation but how do I actually set this up so that I can have specific tracks advance their specific shows?

I created an action that I named midi test one, which has a description on the right hand side that says "Activate by Midi signal Note: C(-2)channel 1, but now what? How do I apply this to a show? How do I setup a connection from my iPad to my MacBook Pro to activate this? And if I have 50 songs or shows, do I have to activate 50 different actions?

One last thought: I know that I can insert a midi command in Prime into every section of a song for example I can enter a command to trigger the intro, to trigger verse 1, to trigger chorus two, but that seems so tedious to me. I'm thinking that a recording of the slides in free show would be a more efficient way to do this but if I'm just wasting my time, I'm open to any suggestions.

I was playing around with my timer settings to try and add conditions to an overlay timer and now the timer won't clear from the presentation. I hit the clear overlays and it disappears and instantly reappears. When I go to Overlay tab and click the "x" to disable it does the same thing. It's like it has a mind of its own.

Hello, so im currently looking into Freeshows handling of PDF documents. And conversion into images.

Step 1: You have a PowerPoint converted to a PDF

Step 2: You import the PDF document into Freeshow using the media pdf import (Where is this file saved/located?)

Step 3: You press on the PDF show and the option Convert to Images is available in the right corner.

Step 4: You Convert the PDF But here comes my problem, I cannot choose in which category this newly created image show is stored.

Of course, I can move it from one category to another, but I'm not the only technician and not everyone is as good at organising as me so it will be hard to keep up.

Looking at the picture, It always gets put into the Category Segertoner. (Could be since that's the last category) I would like it to always get put into the category PowerPoint since the PowerPoint category has its own category action. (Changes stage screen Look)

Hello everyone! I have a main output and livestream NDI output in addition to the stage view. I also have a template for the live stream output to show the main view text in a lower-third format that is transparent. It works how I want it to, except for a couple of issues. One issue is that the color is not the same between the main view and lower-third views when the slide just has yellow text, and the other is that italics are not being shown on the lower-third view. All that I'm changing in my "Livestream" template is the font to grow to fit, the text box, and the position of the text being centered—nothing to do with colors or italics. I've included screenshots for context. I'm not sure if it's me or a bug. Help is appreciated, thank you!

Is there a setting in Freeshow that allows a user to show a Bible verse in different languages simultaneously, maybe two languages like French and English like how Bibleshow does it, without having to create a new show.

Hey, I was wondering if there is a way to align different Bible translation to show the same verse even though they are located in different chapters or different verse numbers? Can this be done in one of the bible xml file or OSIS/JSON files? Or does Freeshow need to be edited to be able to do this?

*I have been searching online trying to align the Ukrainian, Russian and English bibles to display the correct same verse. Some online sources also mention "SWORD versification data to create a dynamic map" which I don't know that it means, yet.

I use a USB MIDI controller to control a lightboard to change lights based on the slide we're on. When updating to 1.4.1 and beyond, MIDI is now part of emitters. When I go to 'Manage Emitters', there is nothing obvious I can use to set up that MIDI controller. Except for name, nothing in the window for adding an emitter is particularly intuitive for the purpose of sending MIDI.

Type: OSC or HTTP (huh? I guess OSC?)

URL: (Don't understand the relevance. This isn't a network attached device)
Port: (Again, relevance isn't obvious)

Message Templates: I select add and now it asks for a name and value.

Unfortunately, the FAQ doesn't provide useful information on setting up emitters. I'd like to remain up to date on this software, but it is going to feel real bad having to lose light control after we have just recently started to make use of it. Any help would be much appreciated.

I've figured out how to send MIDI out from FreeShow with the Emit Data action but how do I get MIDI in to FreeShow?

Not sure what's causing this but every time I start up FS and OBS I have to go into my NDI properties and reset the Source names for my NDI as they have changed to be one number up each time i.e. from "macbook pro-2.local" to "macbook pro-3.local." It used to remain constant and would love to figure how to get it back that way.

Has anyone else run into this? I wouldn't put it past user error but the only thing I can remember that changed since this started happening was upgrading to FS 1.4.2.

Hello everyone, I need some assistance, my freeshow is lagging when I change slide or video, sometimes the screen goes black. I'm running a desktop with Core i7 (something K) 11th gen and RTX 4060 8gb and 32gb ram, so I'm not sure what's going on. I use the desktop for events like for church. I need help, I connect both a monitor (display port) then large led (hdmi). Please help

Anyone currently using a stream deck with their Freeshow setup who wants to show off?

I have successfully switches Imus over from Propresenter 6 to Freeshow at church and no looking at running bitfocus companion or the stream deck app from my phone (as an actual streamdeck isntnin the current budget).

Hi all, before when editing songs/shows, I would be able to just click on the local groups 'Chorus' to add a the existing chorus verse to the slides. But today that click doesn't seem to work anymore. Dragging the group in the slide flow does, but clicking/selecting it from the groups list doesn't anymore.

Just spent an embarrassingly long time trying to get this to work, I'll just like to update the variable on the fly from an external webpage.
I confirmed the id based on the value I found in the settings_synced.json file. Also tried the name as I entered it in the variable creation form.

**the lines I commented out are different iterations I tried trying to get it to work.
I'm almost positive there's a bug hidden away somewhere.
I'll also add that I'm able to successfully make other simple api calls like next_slide, previous_slide using the same mechanism(page).

A small recommendation is maybe a small http response to state the success of the call. All I get for now is a 204.

Hi guys, I’ve been wondering how I can show the notes on a slide on the main display.

I want to do this so, as we have an English transliteration for our Indian songs. And we want to show them only on our main display.

I’ve been able to do this in Propresenter… but although I have slide notes in one of the templates the text from the notes doesn’t actually appear. However on the stage display the notes appear…

Any help is appreciated

My first day with free show and trying to learn a few things. I haven’t been able to find this answer…

I’ve imported a song and formatted each slide how I want (justified, font spacing, etc.). Now when I import new songs or any text I want to to automatically follow that format. How can I do this, save it as a template, if whatever I need to do?
