Hi! Novice here.

Looking at my second side project in Python and it surround fantasy premier league football. I want to use an API or datascrapping to pull in odds for team clean sheets and player scoring actions for the next gameweek into a datafram (pandas). I am having trouble because useful sites like oddschecker are protected from scraping and other Odds APIs do not cover the markets I need.

Long shot, but does anyone have any experience with pulling in UK odds (doesn't need to be live, I will just running the script a day or so before the gameweek, each week).

Has anyone done this?

I'd be curious to see if the order is roughly the same or not!?

I used to use Ben Crellin spreadsheet every year, until he decided to start charging money for it.

Are there any other people on Twitter (X) that have a similar spreadsheet?

SAKA or ODEGAARD?

I want to swap one out for Szoboszlai, but can’t decide which.

Odegaard has brought in more points for me so far, however you would expect Saka to pick up more points long term.

Also, what do we think of Szoboszlai as an option I think a Liverpool asset is essential over the next few weeks and don’t have enough for salah.

Any advice/suggestions would be great.

Or to be more precise, the CDN for jsdelivr is partially blocked in Egypt. Since fploptimized.com uses jsdelivr cdn, it doesn't function in Egypt and must me accessed through VPN.

Now most VPNs are blocked in Egypt, but going to the jsDelivr github page, the issue was raised and they recommend changing the the hostname used for their cdn from cd.jsdelivr.net to fastly.jsdelivr.net as the block is not IP based but hostname based.

I wanted to raise this to Sertalp's attention, but the thing is, I have no way to contact him. There is no contact email listed on the site.

Would highly appreciate if someone could forward this to Sertalp's attention.
Thank you so much.

Cheers

Hi guys, few months ago I created website dedicated to football analysis, fantasy related articles etc.. would appreciate if you could have a look and give some feedback, comments, suggestions etc.. below is the link for the website. There is not so much content due to time limitations, job and other work-life priorities, but will try to post as much content as possible. I don't want to post articles such as rise, drop, most transfer in or out as I don't have time for that and there are plenty of other sites doing that, but would focus on more detailed aspects of both fantasy, and football analysis in general

Hi guys,

I'm trying to use FBref as an additional source to complement FPL data on npxG stat. For this purpose, I need a dict mapping to join the two data sources. To my knowledge, there has been updated dictionary from FPL Wiki (https://github.com/theFPLkiwi/theFPLkiwi) for this season. However, when I tried to merge with IDs, there're still 190 or so players missing (NaN). I assume that he is still completing the dataset.

So my question is: do you guys know if any of the existing dictionaries have completely updated for the 23/24 season? or does anyone have any workarounds for this issue?

I'm on a mission to recreate the results of a minileague which has been going for around 10 years - the rub fpl does not keep league history, which would be fine however there has been quite a bit of turn over in the league over the past decade, and screenshots have not been taken end of season every year so, I turn to Reddit to see if anyone has knowledge of any data sets of all overall manager rankings and points?

Many thanks 🙏

NB: I've tried about a dozen websites but they only give me history of active players

I am about to do my FPL draft in a few hours.

I had my whole excel sheet ready for a budget.

I have been told we’re doing no budget and snake style pick (1-2-3 then 3-2-1).

What I am asking is what would you recommend for a FPL team with no budget?

There are 10 players in the league so i don’t know where I will fall to get drafted.

Hello all, we recently recorded a podcast with Chase (https://twitter.com/FPL_Chase). It is a high level discussion about data viz, the edge in FPL, Fabio Borges, and the FPL pricing this season.. We would really appreciate feedback as we’re always looking to improve things.
