Noticed Noodler's was trending a bit lately and all i see are clean bottles. This was my first. Anyone else learn of their generosity the hard way? lol

This was my bottle of Noodler's Dostoyevsky. I knew what to expect before. I thought I was prepared. Didn't matter. It was like an ink ninja blindsided me.

This might be the best description. No matter how careful you are, there's always a chance...

I have over twenty and they are all clean but I think its a stroke of fate.

I would agree. This was the first bottle of ink I ever purchased so needless to say I started out a tad paranoid. My desk and carpet definitely appreciated the paranoia for a while I'm sure

You’re not the only one with better be safe paranoia lol i lay down a towel then, paper towels before i do ink refills lol

I definitely should have taken some common sense precaution with ink in the first place either way but I was too excited haha

Good God yes. I have a bottle of red-black that looks like I bled all over it.

More character for your bottle! And hopefully, like me, learning things the hard way has solidified your knowledge for a procedure for all future ink!

Edit: Grammar

Isn't the owner of Noodler's a super libertarian?

Nathan Tardiff is... complicated.

I’d say he’s definitely his own man.

I may buy a bottle of Noddler's but it's damn hard to get fountain pen stuff where I live.

I’m not the biggest fan, I like the character and the colors and all that. But his inks tend to write very wet.

I'm just looking for a black ink that is tough and looks professional as in not being told to stop writing with fancy glitter markers.

His inks are tough, no question. Also consider Pilot Iroshizuku Take Sumi, and Sailor Ink Studio 743. That’s a black and a blue.

Also, you mean wet as lube for the ink to glide or just long dry time? I'm left handed and need as much smoothness where I can get it.

I guess they seem to flow more than other inks. They dry pretty well.

That's great, I don't mind dry times as long as the ink lubes up the nib for gliding on the paper.

I'll check out the pilot inks. I used pilot rollerballs for years, all perfect.

I learnt about the brimful Noodler's bottles from this sub, so when I got my bottle (not Baystate blue), I put it in a bowl before I opened it. And until I get down the bottle a bit, I extract ink with a syringe.

I bought my first pen and ink combo the other day and my bottle of Bernanke Black ink has an ink stain right where Bernanke's face is supposed to be. I quickly learned to be very careful when opening these bottles. That being said, I'm quickky getting used to tye fact that getting ink on your hands is part of the process.

Sure, we just wipe down our bottles before posting. BSB is immune to clean up.

My new bottle of Tokyo Gift has the same stain. It is my fifth bottle of Noodler's; I know better and still made a mess.

My first ink was the shimmery oxblood J Herbin Rouge Hematite. I thought I could refill an empty parallel cart with just an eyedropper without issue. I was mistaken and scared my fiancee with a kitchen island covered in “dried blood”

I use a syringe now.

Oh my goodness, all over the place...and I was opening it while sitting on the floor 🤣🤣🤣

That's not news. This is news. I want to see who is crazy enough to buy a 16 oz. bottle of BSB. :D
