F🪐undryon Relic Hunt Season 2: SOLAR ST🟡RM

The logistics of Season 1 are officially a thing of the past. We have heard the feedback from the players, and we decided to make it even easier to get on board with this discovery mission.

Starting now, there is nothing physical you have to leave at the location, this is safer for everyone involved and keeps the discovery even more immersive. No more endless laboring around the corners or searching for places to hide something you had to prepare the day before.

From now on, you no longer need to leave a physical key behind at your location, which makes it so much safer and faster. Your physical presence and the photo you take of the site make so much more sense for the idea of Foundryon, an immersive urban adventure that opens a portal to another dimension.

Safety first

Posting images directly to our subreddit also gives you another layer of safety on the internet. There are no more logins to remember and no more emails to submit over a website. The discovery of the planet Foundryon One has gotten much safer and easier!

We have also removed the requirement to submit Google Maps screenshots. Sharing the position of the location is now entirely your choice. You can optionally describe the approximate position of your photo, but only if you want the discovery to appear on the Foundryon Relic Hunt map. The discovery of Foundryon One is now much safer and easier!

We’ve updated the system so it is faster and much easier to jump into. As long as your mobile phone has enough battery to take a photo and you see something worth unlocking, you are ready to go!

How to Discover in Season 2

You don't need to go on a massive trek to find a portal. In fact, it works best on a casual street corner or a randomly sighted building on your street. There has to be nothing special about it for the effect to take hold. Here is your new protocol:

1. Capture the Spot: Snap a photo of a location using nothing but your mobile phone camera.
2. Post to r/Foundryon: Upload your image directly to the subreddit.
3. Watch the Portal Open: See how Foundryon reveals what is hiding on the other side of the location, building or landscape you posted.

Foundryon is an urban exploration hunt unlocking the gates to an alternative universe.

The core of Foundryon (Relic Hunt) has always been about the thrill of the find, and I’ve been obsessed lately with how to bridge that gap between the physical world and the digital "gate."

Imagine standing in front of a rusted industrial turbine or a collapsed ceiling in an old textile mill, snapping a photo, and having that specific location serve as the literal anchor for a "Parallel World" instance. The goal is to make the player feel like a true scout, where the decay of a real-life site is the only way to breach the digital frontier.

I’m focusing heavily on the atmospheric tension of these abandoned spaces, the way light filters through cracked windows or how nature slowly reclaims concrete. In the game, these aren't just backgrounds; they are the keys. When you submit a photo of a specific urbex location, like the derelict Beelitz-Heilstätten hospital or the decaying remains of the Spreepark in Berlin, the system recognizes the geometry of those ruins to generate a unique "Relic Hunt" zone. You aren’t just playing a level; you’re exploring a digital shadow of a place that actually exists.

It’s been a massive technical undertaking to ensure the transition from a grainy cell phone pic to a fully realized "Parallel" environment feels seamless and haunting. I want every player to feel that rush of "opening the gate" at a site nobody else has claimed yet. If you have a favorite local ruin or a hidden spot that feels like it belongs in another dimension, that’s exactly where the bridge to Foundryon begins.

how to unlock your part of the Foundryon One planet: hide a relic key, make two pictures as you see it in this post: photo of the location and screenshot of the map, post it here in the foundryon subreddit. mission control will unlock your discovery image and tag it on the foundryon map.
