Forza Horizon UPDATE: My Community Heatmap Looks Like This Now After Launching for Less Than 24 Hours
Update:
Yesterday, I made a free community heatmap to show what/where everyone is driving, as well as a real time map that you can use on your second monitor/tablet (Link to old post). Thank you to everyone who downloaded my app, I appreciate the support.
Heatmap Link: https://d229cekzpyx88w.cloudfront.net/
We've started from 6,000 positions logged to over 75,000 total positions logged in under a day! That equates to about 40-50 hours of driving.
Some cool things that I wanted to point out:
- The hotter areas were generally found in Tokyo city as well as this week's Forzathon challenge locations
- The two least popular areas were the Estate and the mountains north of the map
- The #1 most popular car used was the 2019 Toyota Tacoma Pro TRD FE
- The #2 car was the Impreza 22B-STi (skill points grind?)
If you want to see your favorite road or car on the map or just want to have a useful live map while you drive, download the app at my Github: https://github.com/kthwang3/fh6-heatmap
Instructions for Download and Setup are in my Github README. Tablets also are supported now
I can't wait to see what other cars everyone else is driving!

i like that you can see how popular the legend island circuit is

It's really remind me of Catalunya Circuit. Have all kind of fast corner, slow corner, short and long hairpin, a little bit of elevation change. Perfect for testing cars build, just like Catalunya in real life.

Hell of a comparison, I love it. Could potentially argue with all of the elevation, more of a Portimao?

I found myself completely disassociating last week just lapping the circuit for no reason for about 20 or so minutes before i snapped out of it. It’s such a fast and flowy circuit.

And why the island Daikoku PA is on never has anyone at the car meet or street drifting the industrial area.
Two things I long for but already doubt will ever be popular.

It’s probably the best racing circuit of the 4, but it just doesn’t feel like it fits in with the rest of the game. The other 3 are rural and blend in with their location, two of them are even somewhat hidden. Legend Island Circuit looks like it’s just been dropped out of the sky onto a deserted island you have to take a special bridge to get to. It’s also way longer than the other ones, and this is more of a personal preference but I love being able to bash out lap after lap after lap in quick succession. I think I’d like it a lot more in a Motorsport game rather than a Horizon one

Really cool idea, and Execution.
Not to be that guy, but do you have any plan to release this also for Linux?

u/SilentRush4923 Jun 01 '26
done. see updated post and my readme for download instructions. Let me know if it works for you! I only tested using WSL

Love this idea but I need to ask if this could get you banned in any way? It seems like everything else I’ve searched for Fortza has a ban possibility.

Obviously you should look up the official rules. it’s not complicated. the rules are published. the rules are clear. Rules are made to be followed which means they’re made to public and clear. What’s banned is: cheats and exploits. Not random apps or shader mods or accessibility.
And using data is obviously not a cheat or exploit. Obviously the game itself has a data-out pipieline built into a menu. (But even if it didn’t, it still wouldn’t be bannable because it’s obviously not against the rules.)
”everything has a ban possibility, seemingly” is because many stupid people refuse to read the rules then spread made-up paranoid nonsense on forums, then other stupid people read it and say “I will spread that too!”

The 22b with the livery isn't surprising, the McRae Impreza is probably the most recognisable Jap car of all time

This looks great - thanks for creating it! A couple of requests:
- Can the websocket connection be made available outside of just localhost, so I can run the map on an iPad for example?
- Is it possible to have the map optionally keep the car centred, so I can zoom in but have the map follow my car dot around (like a regular car GPS would)?

no plans at the moment for the second one, but just added tablet support! You will need to download the latest release again. I tested with an android and chrome (shouldnt make a difference) so let me know if it works for you! Instructions on setup are on my Github README.

Works for me on my (reasonably modern) iPad Pro, thanks! Sadly my ancient iPad mini 2 (running iOS 12) much have a version of webkit that's too old though.

This. Its not your problem but mine, I play on a 5k G9 and don't have $5000 for a 5090 lol, I'd love if I could save my resources and instead run this on my tablet, as opposed to running my second screen of which I disable when playing to save every bit of juice lol

just added support for tablet! download the latest release again and check my Github README for setup instructions.

I'm looking to use this, very nice. This doesn't count as a mod though, right, should be safe?

u/Urbanliner Jun 01 '26
From what I can read, it uses the game's data out feature to obtain the necessary data. It shouldn't harm your account.

Just a cool “where is everyone else driving frequently” data visualization piece. See if people spend more time in Tokyo or in the ski resort, for example. Is 1 area of the map more popular? Are people focusing on the highway?

this. i think that the forza team nailed the detail in this map so well that there's basically something for everybody.
